Going to practice this ASAP - just bought my first ribber, and have had lots of struggles with the manual's instructions. Love that you start with waste yarn. Great video, I've taken 2 of your craftsy classes years ago, and still refer to them often. Thanks for all you do!

I got the Hand Manipulated Stitches book and the courses on Coursera, but if there was another book dedicated to finishing techniques such as button bands, neckbands, pockets etc, I would so go and purchase. The technique demonstrated in this video gives such a professional finish, I can't wait to go and apply it to my cardigan. Thank you very much.

Glad you like this band. More Hand-Manipulated Stitches includes a number of patterns that all have special techniques so you might like that. Hand knits by machine also has some special techniques but no garments. Open Spaces is a collection of open knit stitches - not just lace. You can look inside all of the books on line at Amazon to see if they interest you. There are also classes at susan-guagliumi.teachable.com, one of which is a sweater tutorial. There are trailer clips on the web site to see what the classes are about they are much longer and more detailed than the classes I did for Craftsy.

I too was used to a passap. I now knit with a Superba because my passap is so hard to push & Im old now. I find it much harder to do on the Superba. I wish I could go back to the Passap. The Superba does better color work, but I dont do jacquard much. Most everything else, the Passap is better.

Thank you for the informative tutorial. As a beginner to this technique, I have a question: I understand the term "bridging" means enlarging the stitch size to manipulate stitches. However, for clarification, bridging is just done on the needles that the knitter determines need to be enlarged? Sometimes it seems you say to bridge across the entire fabric.
