It's interesting to see this. 1997 is the year that my interest in new games sharply dropped. This list had around 3-4 games I played (and still play.) The earlier years I found myself realizing I've played more than half the entries.

1990 was one hell of a year. The megadrive arrived the uk , and i think japan got the snes. But still plenty of great games from the aging c64 and the newer amiga Great time to be a teenager

the final year of pre-3D era of c&vg. While its my fav era, by 1992 most of it was looking stale. Nearly everything here was a rehash of a pre-existing game that had been rehashed many times since the early 1980s or before. Those jap top down scrolling s-em-ups were getting stale. Side scrolling beat-em-ups were stale. Would be more interesting to do a vid on the innovative games of the year.
