good to hear that the 4848 wasnt doin well, I was almost ready to buy one a few years ago and like you said I could not find any for sale. I ended up getting a Motu 24Ai and 24 Ao along with all my AVB stuff seems to be fine for now and a lot cheaper. If I had a desk like yours tho I would most likely get the Galaxy64. Cant wait to see more vids on it

I was looking at the Galaxy 32 because at the time the price for the 64 was 10,999 but I waited and then looked again it was on sale for 7999 with 10% off on amazon so I got it for $7200 which was a huge savings! It is the perfect console tracking interface for me since I have a 56 input desk, and the Galaxy 64 is like a digital patchbay its amazing!

I have not used the digital patchbay yet myself

Ferrofish makes good 32 In/Out interfaces, with or without Dante (A32 Pro MM). It's a 1U rack unit. Quite affordable.

I was looking for 64 I/O all in one box!
@68Snaps10 күн бұрын
I had an Antelope Synergy core studio (12 input interface). I've had SSL interfaces, UAD too, and installation's always been a breeze. But it took me three days to get the Antelope to work in thunderbolt (usb was easy to get working). I had to do mods to my mac's low level security, which is crazy, just to use thunderbolt. Support had to help me out, and they were great. But then the unit would sometimes refuse the thunderbolt connection and only accept usb. Totally random occurences. And to get the Studio app running, you need a separate launcher that double checks your device's S/N. It's as quirky as it gets, cumbersome and not reliable. At least that was my experience. And I can't allow for any errors on days I'm tracking musicians. When I'm mixing, I can afford to lose a couple of hours, but when musicians are in, it's gotta work. This was the worst experience I've had so far with an interface, so good luck to you, and I really hope nothing bad happens on your side.
@MixingMusicAnalog9 күн бұрын
Thanks for that info. So far, I have been trouble free but if the unit become un-reliable and causing that many issues like you are describing, then I will get something else. What else can I do? I have had the unit for 10 months and not a single issue, (fingers crossed). Lets hope it stays that way
@68Snaps9 күн бұрын
@@MixingMusicAnalog If the unit you have works, then it's great! Software glitches are platform dependent, vary with configuration, memory size, interaction with other drivers and software, and what is dysfunctional in one place may work perfectly in another.

Congratulations on the studio redesign and the Galaxy 64 addition. I have a similar setup to you. An SSL Origin 32 with an Antelope Galaxy 64 and PreSonus Studio One. I've been very happy with the Galaxy 64, no issues at all , going on 3 years. I actually have the last 12 channels of the Galaxy 64 routed to one of my Switchcraft patchbays to use its plugins as hardware inserts, pretty sweet !! I was so happy with the Galaxy 64 that I bought an Antelope Audio Zen Q for mobile use.

i have been fighting with studio one and their uc software for years, i bought their interfaces i thought it would be best since i use studio one, uc control is horrible,if i ever upgrade im leaving studio one and presonus behind
@MixingMusicAnalog10 күн бұрын
Out of the thousands and thousands of student of mine that use Studio One, you are the first to say this. Most people that use S1, love it in my experience.
@guitarplayer593210 күн бұрын
@@MixingMusicAnalog it has serious limitations when paired with a presonus interface , do you record bands or just mix? studio ones monitoring isnt 1/10 as good as pro tools when tracking bands and again uc control is buggy, has never really worked, dozens of support requests, even presonus reps on here have said the same thing about their poor monitoring when it comes to tracking bands and giving them their own mixes.
