I have one, love it. And would buy it again and have 2 of them if V2 had digital recall. It’s so powerful and flexible. Perfect on the Master bus. I have mine side chained to my Fusion. Which I would love a digital recall feature on too.. + add a second set of transformers for a second blend of coloured saturation.. I never ask for much. I set my Bus+ and mix into it. Thus I never really have to recall much except for the main knobs from time to time. SSL keep innovating.. PS.. I’m based in London England 😅

We have one, great on drums especially. Do I wish it had plugin recall like our WesAudio ngBus or Tegeler Schwerkraft Maschine? Yes (altho I suspect the SSL MK2 will have that function.) For mix bus duties I still prefer our Dramastic Obsidian (no plugin recall) or ngBus Comp (full recall.) What's great about plugin control on a mix bus compressor is automating the compressor as the song progresses, just like a plugin. (We don't always prefer VCA topology on mix buss. Diode, or FET, or Vari Mu is often a more pleasing choice). But the BUS+ is still an insanely powerful box. Have fun with it!! Looking forward to your review. Keep up the good work. You are appreciated.

Yea, that would be great to have it be digitally controlled like the Wes Audio NG Bus. I have that and Love it!

What is this thing? oh it's a recall nightmare with multiple sub menus. SSL needs to get on board with the digital control and recall. Now's the time. Maybe they want to sell thousands of those and then release the digi control version so they can sell them again.
@MixingMusicAnalogКүн бұрын
Don't be so angry. It's all good my friend. If this is not for you then that's fine. No need to bash the product you have not even tired it yourself. Have a good day :)

@@MixingMusicAnalog I love SSL I'm a huge fan I think you misunderstood my point. I think the unit is great but the fact that it didn't embrace the digi control just leads me to believe that they are waiting on purpose to double up. Wasn't being mean it's just an observation that's all.

Damn...you get all the best toys Dave! Thats why I love watching you. I'm hooked on Uncle Dave. Can't wait to see what your impressions are of this piece. It has become Colt Capperune's favorite buss compressor. The fact that you can recall settings with your project alone is hella valuable!
@MixingMusicAnalogКүн бұрын
Well if Colt thinks it's great than it must suck! LOL...just kidding, I Love Colt! I am not aware that you can recall settings. It's not digitally controlled. Am I misunderstanding?
@thomasboyerGBSRecordsКүн бұрын
@@MixingMusicAnalog I think the recallability has to do with the "detented" (or more accurately) stepped relay pots which aid in consistent recalls. It has so many controls it's a bloody pain, but doable.

Hey Dave! Love that you are trying this out. I’ve been using it on my master bus for the past year. The dynamic eq and the 4k modes are awesome! So, I started using the D EQ as a “harshness” remover and it really helps smooth out the pokey parts of the mix. I recently picked up the Fusion and have this plugged into the Fusion’s insert. The combo is a really nice master bus chain. I’ve been meaning to set up a one on one consult with you - I’ll have to send you an email to set that up!

Hi Dave, I'm really into the all Flock Audio stuff but have been going back and forth deciding between getting them or CB Electronics(maybe even a mixture of the two) products. They're a UK company that also makes digitally controlled patchbays(and other audio products but aren't too big in the US). They also make specialty patchbays with inputs compatible with guitar pedals, piezo instruments, and ribbon mics, a multichannel mic relay for auditioning and controlling/switching condenser mics and preamps, and recently released a new Eurorack/Synth patchbay. That are all supposedly sharing the same control app. Their variety is what's causing me decision paralysis and now that Flock has new the Dante patchbay and input switcher, I've only had a hard time trying to decide. All that being said I wanted to know your opinion on my conundrum and if you've ever heard of CB electronics or tried their products.

Looking forward to seeing how you incorporate this into your workflow. As a Pro Tools user, I’m desperately hoping that Flock releases a software update to allow me to instantiate the Patch alike a HW Insert plugin on each track, as opposed to routing from one track to the next (and then printing) in PT. I’ve had this on my wish list for a while, with the ONLY hesitation being a cluttered workflow in PT.

Watching eagerly! I invested a lot in really high quality TT patch bays and at least I know that with great cables I am not messing with my sound. However something like the Patch would be SO convenient for the reasons you mention. I think my main area of interest here would be to see 1. How easy is it to integrate into your workflow and should you decide to buy the Flock, what impact would that have on your current bays from a business sense ? Ie In my case I've got about 4K in the bays so making those redundant and having to sell them isn't an attractive prospect at all not to mention all the money spent on patch cables 2. It would be interesting to see if there's an audible difference between the cable bays and the Patch 3. Is the cost of the system really worth it for the ability to swap chains around quickly OR, would you find yourself reverting back to similar behaviours as with the old bays and just having go to chains. I'm skeptical that I'd be forever patching in different chains and trying things out, maybe at the beginning but not sure long term. Cheers mate looking forward to seeing more

Hey, Dave. I’m so very excited to see the beginnings of what will be your video series on the Flock Audio Patch. I started watching this channel from its inception and have also grown my outboard analog footprint substantially. Of course, as you know, that also means more patchbays and patching revisions. The Patch is an amazing unit in concept and I want one; I’d even reached out to my Vintage King account rep so that we can determine the proper sizing. I soon learned that even with the 192 point Patch, I’’ll still need to manually patch in a few of my analog units. I do have a slight concern about the pricing model, in that I am accustomed to seeing pricing get better as I purchase scaled up units, however, with the Flock systems, scaling up in I/O actually, in most cases, costs more than the sum of 2 smaller units. For example , the patch 32 lists at $ 1,999 and the next size up, the 64 lists at 3,099 .. that’s an example where buying at scale offers a price break but the next size up beyond the 64 is the 128 and it’s listing at $8,999… that equates to $2,801 more than the cost of 2 flock 64 units. I understand that there may be small feature variations but the point is by going up in scale the units cost even more per I/O. I googled if more than one patch can be controlled from a single PC and the search results indicate that it’s possible by using 2 Patch units in tandem, but that comes at the cost of sacrificing 16 channels of I/O to transfer between 2 units. Can you ask if they will ever offer a better way of either allowing customers to run more than 1 unit from a PC but have them independently controlled so that the Flock Patch ecosystem systems can grow as add ons ? As always, thanks for your channels, the video content, and for sharing with us !

Thanks for your concerns about the pricing. I will let representatives from Flock Audio answer these directly.

Love both incarnations of VH. The mighty was pure magic on steroids while the expanded musicianship of the Hagar years were great as well. Edward was the G.O..A.T. in my not so humble opinion. Loved VH since '78 and although I heard every VH song hundreds of times over the years EVH still never ceases to amaze me with his genius. Cade did a great job on these tracks and your mixing was tremendous as well! Thanks Dave.
