Hi MMA, what song is that around @ 18:37 and 21:34 do you have a track list ;-)it just wasn't loud enough for Shazam ;-) It was a bit of a shock to hear that there are additional license costs for connecting a pair or other speakers the Trinnov way......your videos are always very complete.... thank you! Gosh! Are you really expecting 6 years without trouble with a 50k$ desk? I have a midas Legend 3000 48, it's 20 years old, it hasn't got any loose knob or cracky pot 😅 I would expect at LEAST 15-20 years without ANY sort of trouble with the desk you have here 😆

I hope you are right about that. I have always been told that consoles need lots of maintenance after a handful of years. I hope that info is wrong! LOL

The punch, focus, and visceral feel of this thing sounds great, but in every demo of this compressor that I have heard (and yours highlights it quite well), it lops off an unacceptable amount of low end when engaged, even with the HPF filters bumped up a bit. This thing seriously needs a Dry/Wet knob to my mind for me to consider it, which is a shame, because I think it otherwise sounds killer and price ain't bad. Coming to expect these kind of niceties might entirely be my being spoiled by some of the latest revisions of Stam Audio gear though, to be fair.
@MixingMusicAnalog4 күн бұрын
Maybe AudioScape will add the wet/dry knob at one point

great video! Thanks for taking the time & effort in creating this review. I just picked up a B2 bomber ADCface-blue-smiling. My normal chain and bouncing option is straight from my Apollo X8P to hard disk via off-line bounce. This will be a new way to export my mixes being that I won’t be able to export my mixes off-line bounce, and I need to consider my monitoring options/setup so I can hear the B2! Can you please recommend either by diagram or text the best way to hook this new gear in to my existing chain? Id like to take advantage of Clock, jitter, and the bigger sound the B2 should bring to my mixes. Would so greatly appreciate it. I know that I need to clock my Apollo to the B2. And I believe I need to monitor the return of the burl coming back in. Thanks in advance

The snappiness of the 160 would stick out much better in a mix. It doesn't fit every style but it can do that thwack and all the others can't. My favorite one trick pony.

Nicely done Uncle Dave. Steve has some very nice tunes and I always enjoy mixing them in the Academy. Definitely a nice variety away from the Pop Rock scene. Based on observations it appears you got to the end result much quicker than purely ITB mixing. Call me old but touching buttons inspire me to make different decisions than mouse and keyboard.
@MixingMusicAnalog15 күн бұрын
Mixing on a console is definitely quicker than mixing in the box, no doubt about it!

I forgot to ask, is the self noise of the unit (approx. -60db) in your opinion (working with a unit) still O.K. for mastering tasks; how high is the noise in reality, did you noticed it? :)

WOO! I guessed right. Awesome video man! As soon as you said watch the solo button I looked away haha! I figured mix 1 was apollo just from the slightly more "organic" sound that be heard in certain parts of the track. The quantum had parts in the same areas that sounded slightly "flat or duller". That being said the quantum seemingly sounded better in the louder dynamic parts. I'm a full Presonus guy who still loves using an old ass 2 input firewire interface for playing guitar because it just works. I'd easily grab the quantum considering the price. It's just nice to have UAD for that slight improved clarity that could make a difference if I'm recording someone else(I'm just a metal guitarist so ears probably shot anyway)

My apologies… Great Channel by the way……. So say i mixed a song on the SSL but i want to print the individual tracks to protools because i dnt want to recall…. If i go out the individual outs i would be by passing the buss compressor if i had it on right so i would be losing the buss compressor sound vs printing the stems thru the bussess that would be hitting the buss compressor etc Drm Buss Voc Buss Music Buss

Brother i've been watching you for years and I love you! But why on earth didn't you just start out with the vocals? You boasted about how good Lori's vocal takes are and then completely reversed that momentum by starting with the kick?!? Especially considering that Is the 551 module is predominantly used for VOCALS.

There are 3 Audioscape modules waiting to buy in the next few weeks: D-Comp/V-260 and the reverb XL-305R. I listen to everything from KZbin through my reference monitors in the studio...a lot of time to do this but it's worth it. Here in Italy there are few who rely on hardware, many work with plugins nothing strange, but compared to them I fell in love with both vintage and modern hardware. I started with plugins, but now I'm snubbing them except for a few. It's always a pleasure to hear from you. Greetings

I do have the D-Comp, and it's a beast. Not easy to handle, but it sure does the job. It has been on my drums and done it superbly. I have tried it on acoustic guitar and it is perfect - with a light saturation, the guitars shines like never before. So, in short, go for it.
