With the Loksound 5....Can you do a video on the BEMF. Showing what ALL the functions on the Load Control / back EMF, Motor overload Protection and PWM Frequency CVs do to the Loco and why they have been included in the Lokprogrammer Software.....for us Tech savy hobbyists. Thanks PaulB

What happen to my comment. I am working on Silver Streak Zephyr which just got release and I need to know how you installed the Mars light
@thebrakeman178 ай бұрын
Not sure if I saw the original comment. Anyways, I take the light tubes out and cut them free from each other. Using canopy glue, I adhere LEDs to the back of the tubing and use heat shrink and liquid electrical tape to prevent light bleed into the shell. Then a small dot of CA to install the lens with LED attached back to the shell and wire them to the decoder.

I need help for setting motor start delay. My atlas gp 40-2 with Loksound 5. There is a delay before locomotive starts to move. It is ho scale green BN. Of my 6 locomotives, only this one has start delay. I am using decoder pro

CV 54 =0 there still may be some delay like thedash 9 I have. Also put cv 3 and 4 at 0

I have an athearn genesis and my start delay is more like 6 seconds at speed step 5. CV 3-4 are at 0 -1, I changed cv 54 from 50 and and down still delay. Frustrated!

Would have like to know which ESU unit you used for the install? So I can order the right one
@joedessenberger2048 Жыл бұрын
Hesitant to purchase an Athearn unit as I have found Kato to be the standard to live by. However, I finally picked up a BN version of this unit this weekend at a train show and was very pleased by the "heft" and the smooth running unit during the 15 minute run-in. With it's heft, it should be able to lug a lot of cars, especially once speed matched to a couple of my SD40s.

OMG!!! I just want to replace the bulb on my athearn gp-38-2 with LED but not sure how to (I have the lights with wires and resistors added) because the Athearn only has the copper strips running to the bulb. LOL, I'm 69 y.o. and just broke out the ol HO scale and have it on my dinning table LOL!!! Beautiful work you AND your customer have done there, beautiful. I got lights on two of my Walthers GP9 which are really cool and I did a really sloppy job, but they have the red and black wires that I attach the LEDs to.

Thanks for this review. I notice that your emergency stop wasn't a prototypical emergency stop. Can you alter the settings so that when the brake lever is pushed right over you get a realistic emergency stop? Preferably complete with emergency stop brake sound but I don't think decoders do emergency braking sound yet ... or do they? I know you can adjust brake settings but I notice DCC systems like to make available the sudden stop and I'm just wondering if the system will actually allow for NO sudden stop when the lever's pushed right over.

Yes just attach a set of wires from the programmer to the tester leads for track power in.

I think you said the ESU system did not like 2 engines with the same address.I have a lot of pairs of double headers with the same address [sometimes 3 loco's [Loksound V4/V5] [not consist]..and have no problems. It dose not try to change one of the address. Some of the Roco twin sets are run on consist...but the motion is usually address 3 , sounds on one, address 4 and the other address 5. A bit of a nuisance..

AT&SF war bonnets were used for passenger trains because they had a smaller motor wheel gear for 110 mph top speed. At&SF blue F7s had larger gears for freight work at 70 mph top speed.
