Okay that whole ‘men make better movies than women’ comment is an enormous pile of horseshit. For a start, the whole industry was set so female filmmakers didn’t even get a proper chance ‘til like (I wanna say ‘60s/‘70s with women like Agnes Varda and Chantal Akerman), so we’re already a good few huge movie movements in. Big female Hollywood directors came even later, building more and more and now I’d say like 5 of the 15 best directors working now are women, despite them still being a very small fraction of all directors out there.
