How do you do this whilst maintaining the underlying textures.etc? Basically what I want to do, is take what I've done which is a semi-realistic planet design, and make it have more of a comic/anime stylised render.

Thanks for the tutorial, it was very good. I did change your structure slightly, separating the iris (colour) nodes from the pupil (colour) ones, and separating them with factor nodes to demarcate the boundary between the two.

Just a heads up: at minute 6:00 you changed Z to zero in mapping. also in mapping if the type isn't selected as "Normal" then it will not appear as striations

"Just check the box for Ambient Occlusion" Already completely lost because there is no box for Ambient Occlusion even if I use Search. In just 0:25 seconds I am already incapable of completing this tutorial. Kept watching. "And then screen space reflections" also nonexistent. Aight sweet off to a good start. More edits as I keep watching. "Refraction box" Nope! "Now scroll down a bit and turn on Screen Space Refraction" Nope! Not there, does not exist.

This is a really well put together tutorial, thanks! Only issue I seem to be having at the moment is adding the color ramp doesn't have the effect of creating the dark pupil when I switch the sliders. The effect is more uniform across the whole eye, but hopefully I can figure that part out!
@goopuman

I had a similar issue. If you're using blender 4.x, what I did was change the interpolation from b-spline to ease. that seemed to give me much more control over it

I’ve been doing collection grease pencil but it seems to make my pc take off whenever I do it. It’s fine in viewport but if I move the camera or change a parameter on line art thickness it takes ages to change. Surely it can’t be my PC as I’m on 64gb ram and 2070 super

@myloberry-nc6xy @DreamSnapAi Ray Tracing is in the Render options on your side bar, near the top of the list. I'm in Blender 4.3 and it's the third option down. The go back to your material in Shading, Turn that Roughness to .1, Transmission to the max, and mess with the Alpha like Vlavich said. It might look weird, so to make sure you know what you got, go to the top right corner of Blender and click Render, then Render Image. Assuming you already have a camera pointed at your model. (If not, click Shift + A in your layout viewport click camera and you can position you camera with Shift + `) And once your image renders that's what your eyeball will actually look like if you do an animation or just a still image
