for a video that (at the moment) has only like 2k views, this has been a nice tutorial for figure modelling and I think more people should see this. trying to get into making humanoids myself and many videos about doing low poly kinda go over my head. putting shapes together like this is pretty nice instead of constantly extruding from the same shape and have me be panicked about fucking up my model early on.

you didn't show how to use the modifier tool solidify. this is the first video to show how to actually learn to create like the pros do. Do you have one that shows how to use the solidify?

That’s so kind of you to say 🖤 The solidify modifier gets applied to a flat piece of geometry, just the way you’d apply a modifier to any other mesh. At the top, it has 2 input fields - thickness and offset. In the video, all you do is increase the number value for the thickness field until it fits what you’re looking for. I hope this helps a little! Moving forward, I’ll be mindful of including more detail 🙂

This was a really cool video and I dig the editing style Would just say the speed through the edge loops for certain parts is abit fast for anyone that would benefit from a tutorial at this level...also including things in the thumbnail that arent in the tutorial is always a let down

1 question how do you get his hands to move as well, mine just stay in the same place :(

No problem we can fix that easily! Unfortunately, I forgot to mention in the video the fix for this. In object mode select your hands and shift click to select your bones. Then hit ctrl P and choose "with automatic weights." Since the hands are a separate object from your upper body, they need to be parented separately.

HATE THAT IT TOOK ME SO LONG TO GET TO THE UPPER BODY AND LEGS AND YOU JUST X100 SPED THROUGH THEM STEPS. Wasted my time attempting this as a beginner. The first part was great and very informational however as I'm new to Blender Getting towards the end of tutorial and then not being able to finish it because I dont know what you actually did was frustrating.

This was one of the harshest pieces of criticism I've received here on KZbin. Yet, one of the most important ones. Thank you for taking the time to write this out. I totally agree with you and I'm sorry you had this experience! Being a beginner in Blender is hard enough and my goal is to help people learn. Not lead them down a complicated path and ditch them halfway through. I will likely remake this video or a version of it with your advice in mind.

@pixelmethat I truly loved the beginning and you calmly and clearly explained the steps. I actually learnt how to do things what specific tools do however 8min and I came to a halt. I will be watching this again in the morning and attempting it again in hopes I can see and understand your upper body and lower body steps. My head looks great so far. Sorry if this was harsh however you skipped the end 😔
