Hello bro, I lost my logitech dongle few weeks ago but I have the same type dongle from another mouse (my partner's old broken mouse). I want to pair this dongle with my mouse. I installed the software that you mentioned but my laptop does not detect the USB - so I cannot click on 'next' button. It asks me to plug-in a wireless receiver but does not detect one when I connect it. Funny because the connector works on my partner's mouse but this software does not detect it. Can you please help me out
@technologistonthego23772 күн бұрын
Does the dongle you’re trying to pair have a little orange sun logo on it? If so, that is a unifying receiver. The video and utility referenced in that clip were specifically about pairing a non-unifying receiver to a compatible keyboard and mouse. It’s not possible to mix and match unifying and non-unifying receivers. I have a video on how to pair a unifying receiver. It’s a different utility that is downloaded, but pretty much the same process after that. That utility will certainly recognize the unifying USB receiver. I’m not sure that it will pair it with the keyboard and mouse because they were designed to communicate with the non-unifying receiver. Aside from the logo, a unifying receiver by design can be paired with multiple devices. While functional, it does make them more expensive and people don’t tend to use them as much. corporate America has really gone with the much cheaper and functional non-unifying receiver with its compatible, keyboard and mouse.

Admittedly, I do not have your model to test out this feature. As per Microsoft, it’s supposed to work. How far into the process did it get? Did you see the circle of dots under the surface logo?
@negative17232 күн бұрын
@@reneesquivel6449 its ok, the unexpected restart error, is an undocumented one. basically you go into regedit, and change the install value from 1 to 3, and then it works. there are other youtube videos explaining it. its more of installation error. the problem with the surface pro 1, is that there are no settings in the bios to make it boot from USB. it only has UEFI settings. also you can try to force it by pressing power on, and volume up, but there's no indicator if it works or not. complicating things are if you are using a docking station, or the port on the maching.

Does the MAG 27C6F 27" FHD 180Hz Curved Gaming Monitor have custom crosshairs too
@technologistonthego23772 күн бұрын
The MSI gaming monitors have a variety of crosshair you can use, but not one of them is customizable. As I commented in another post, my grandson likes using the small app, crosshair X because it allow it allows him to customize the size of his crosshairs. That is a software app that will run on your PC, but it carries a light footprint. The advantage of the monitor is that it’s generated at the display level with zero impact on PC resources.

Does this powerbank have power passthrough? Do you find any better powerbank after this video released?
@technologistonthego23774 күн бұрын
I had replied but apparently did not send. My apologies for the late response. Yes, this has "pass-through", but only for the USB ports. You cannot both power a device from the AC outlet and charge it at the same time - it seems that is a safety feature. Have I found better? Maybe. I like a Basseus power bank that has an AC outlet on it. I would like to see if that gives longer lasting charge, but I believe it's pass-through power has the same limitation. I did get a Basseus power bank but without the AC outlet. It works as advertised: power a MacBook Pro, iPad Pro, and iPhone Pro at the same time. I tried to power a Pocket PC with a Celeron N100 processor at a customer site hosting a WebEx for remote access to a switch. During the meeting, the Pocket PC powered down. It turns out the output of the USB-c ports on the Basseus power bank can experience brief interruptions. While this is not an issue for the devices it is spec'd to charge (as they have internal batteries), it was death for the Pocket PC. As you might have guessed, I quickly went to this portable power bank and had no issues at all. I powered a portable monitor and Mac mini M1 for over 4 hours never once losing power. I understand that is not an apples-to-apples comparison, but it does show that if you elect to go with a power bank that has to drive a devices lacking their own battery, go with one that has an AC outlet.

@technologistonthego2377 I'd like AC output with pass-through so that i can still keep my Mini M4 on the go the different places without power-off and restart applications

It sounds like you experienced a common issue with Lenovo laptops where the battery gets stuck or the system fails to recognize it properly. Resetting through the pinhole (often called the "Emergency Reset Hole") forces the battery to reconnect properly1. This issue can happen due to several reasons: Battery Calibration: Over time, the battery's calibration might get off, causing the laptop to not recognize it correctly. Software Glitch: Sometimes, software issues can prevent the laptop from powering on correctly. Hardware Issue: There could be a minor hardware issue that gets temporarily resolved by resetting the battery. It's great that resetting through the PIN resolved the issue! If it happens frequently, it might be worth checking the battery health or consulting a technician to ensure there's no underlying hardware problem.

This video got me in a big disagreement with the mechanics that changed my oil. The "Service Engine Soon" light does not indicate the need for a regular oil change, at least on the 2001 Frontier which linked to this video. It is the same as the "Check Engine" light on other cars. The owner's manual calls it the "Malfunction Indicator Light". If you reset it after an oil change, it will come right back on in about 10 miles because there is a code triggered. I just went through this after taking the truck back to the shop that changed my oil. I called and apologized to them after getting home and reading the manual.
@technologistonthego23779 күн бұрын
Interesting point. I haven’t ever seen an indicator for an oil change on the Nissan Frontier other then this light, and on my wife’s 2005 Frontier we clear it out after an oil change; it remains off until another oil change is due. I have thought it odd that it is the same light for a check engine, but given the convoluted process to clear the light, I figured it was a nutty Nissan thing.

Sorry to ask again but is there a way i can get a crosshair on the g255f on xbox series s?
@technologistonthego237714 күн бұрын
Yes. The crosshair is not handled by the Xbox or any host operating system; it is done directly through the menu of the monitor itself irrespective of the video source. Just find the jog dial on the monitor, it will likely be on the back bottom right corner, under the gaming menu option you will find screen assist - that is how the manufacturer refers to the crosshair.

My main use for them has been in my Apple AirTag. That may not be the best gauge because it doesn’t really use a lot of the charge. I have found that the AirTag runs about four months before I need to swap it out. It’s decent enough battery charge duration with the bonus being that it’s rechargeable.

What if I have a Windows PC and an an Android Google Pixel 9 Pro Fold phone? Is there any way I can share clipboards WITHOUT having to use SwiftKey keyboard? I want to continue using Gboard. Microsoft Phone Link clipboard sharing isn't compatible with Google phones. It's only compatible with Samsung and a few other cellphone brands.
@technologistonthego237716 күн бұрын
Well, Barrier does not run on Android. You can use Windows built-in app called Phone Link. That lets you copy/paste through the Remote Desktop it creates of the phone on the Windows PC. It will accomplish what you want , but it will come with all the extra overhead of linking your phone to windows. It’d be a whole lot easier if Barrier were successfully ported to Android.

Just so people know this is caused when your cpu fan header is reading that the fan is broken or not connected, first check your cpu cooler is functioning.
@technologistonthego237721 күн бұрын
Negative. It may be the case for your computer, but my wife’s gaming rig did not pitch this air until after the CPU cooling system had been replaced. It was in our case, and that many others, a false positive CPU fan error. Prior to us replacing the CPU cooling system, the computer was simply running very hot from the outset at 90°C, and within minutes would approach 100°C at which point the motherboard with power off to prevent heat damage at no time to ever pitch a CP fan error. Go figure.

The 650 had been my favorite remote for ages, and when I went to install a second entertainment center (TV, Bluray, surround receiver) in the basement I wanted the same remote. The best I could find in 2021 was Sofabaton (not much better than a discount shop universal remote based on 1980's tech, but it did have app programming and Bluetooth device control) I finally managed to get my hands on a Logitech Harmony One this week (in 2025). It has replaced the 650 in the main room and the 650 has migrated to the basement. Logitech reallly should bring back these remotes. I would like them to add bluetooth for newer devices and update the USB connector to USB-C, but otherwise, these are still excellent remotes.
@technologistonthego237722 күн бұрын
I agree. This is the way remote should’ve been from the outset, but unfortunately consumers did not agree. Maybe they wanted this smart functionality at the same price point as one of those throwaway universal remotes that requires the EU to manually cycle through dozens of 3-digit codes.

@technologistonthego237723 күн бұрын
Very likely, you are actually have a CPU fan error. If your computer is a gaming rig, you will need to replace the CPU cooling system, which is not difficult. They run between $80 and $150. If it’s just a fan, that will run between $15 and $30. You can get the exact model number off the fan itself and then find an equivalent on Amazon. That one’s even easier to replace. All this does assume the computer is worth the additional investment.
