For those of you who have the Asus ROG Ally Handheld Gaming console mounted on a docking station, you may find it cumbersome to use the fingerprint scanner for Window 11 log in if the handheld is mounted behind an external monitor. That is certainly the case for me.
It just so happens that I have a Lenovo 500 FHD webcam that is Windows Hello compatible. This means it support facial recognition. Well, I intended to use with for that purpose with my ROG Ally PC only to find the computer not recognizing the webcam as being Windows Hello compatible. In fact, Windows gave no indication what the problem might be. It simply stated no Hello compable webcam was detected.
This led me to waste hours trying to find a fix. Web searched all pointed to outdated drivers being root cause. In the end, it was no such thing. This easy fix should work if you encounter a similar problem on a laptop or desktop PC. Let me know how this works out for you in the comments section.
