Glad to see that you two are still at it. I assume you went home for the holidays, to see Grandchildren and one of you wanted pumpkin pie. Thanks to you I have a new channel, Gary’s_Tours. My videos are not a tenth as good as yours, but I try to learn from all my mistakes and hopefully, I will learn how to edit better and add music and many other things. Good to see you back. Gary Gramer 😃

Hi Gary's_Tours! That's awesome that you've started your channel. We've subbed. :) And don't be too hard on yourself... but it's good to be a little hard on yourself. It does help you improve :D 99% of the channels start off pretty slow. It just takes time to find your groove. My (Chris here) vanilla advice if desired is: Title and Thumbnail are huge in getting people to click. Once they click, you want to keep them watching. When they are watchin, it's story and pattern interrupts. Keep things moving. Try to let the viewer know what you hope to do in the video ( a hook ). Maybe something you're going to get or find in the video. And then show your adventure getting there. And deliver it at the end. It's easier said than done. We struggle with it still. I use Final Cut Pro on my Mac to edit videos. It's got a bit of a learning curve and I don't use 2/3 of what it's capable of, but I'm feeling very comfortable with it now. We get most music from epidemic sound. It's like 10$ per month. Do you have a Mac or PC? As for the future of C+M, we'll have some updates soon.

Hey there, I was born in Berne and still live here (and will probably die here, because I love it so much). It is so funny seeing my town through the eyes of other people. Hope you had fun. Next time you are here, let me know, I will show you special places and secret corners. Tell your friends that are coming here, I would love to show them. Thank you for these amazing pictures.

We loved Berne... it was quite delightful.

The bit of give on the floor was definitely worth views from the top of the church. And the hike was worth the view and meal at the end.

The lady statue in front of the house of parliament (Bundeshaus) is Helvetia. She gives our country its name: Confederatio Helvetica (Helvetic Confederation). The helvets were the celt tribe on swiss territory.

sorry for being a smart ass, but the lady is not Helvetia - she's Berna. You can tell by the shield she is holding. You find Helvetia in front of the history museum

3:02 This bear didn't remind you one other bear in the USA with some words such as «Californian» and «Republic» on it? That's right. That's the ancestor of the Californian flag as Sacramento was founded by a Swiss guy from Canton of Berne, Sutter. He did bring with him his own home-state flag to hang it in Fort Sutter he called «Nueva Helvetia» (New Helvetia) that became later the Capital City of California. #Vexillology

Thank you for wondering. :) Everything is hunky dory... just have made some adjustments to our life goals. We'll report on that hopefully in the coming weeks.

@@chrisplusmelissa Glad you are OK. You two were my primary inspiration to start a channel and move to Ireland. My sister gave me an Ancestry DNA test as an early Christmas present. I took and just before Christmas, it came back: 72% Irish mostly from Killarney. Before I knew this, I felt a pull toward Killarney and stayed there for two weeks last October using it as my base of operations. In April I will be there for five weeks, Next year I will try 90 days in Killarney March-May. Please keep making your great videos.

I know I'm late to the game. Bern is not the capital but the federal city. The Swiss didn't want to designate any city as the capital, just as we didn't want to give any of our federal councillors more rights. The Federal President changes every year and is only allowed to chair the sessions. Well done.

Ah. Thanks for the info on that. We sure learn a lot traveling. :)
