The 1967 Bonnie and Clyde with Faye Dunaway and Warren Beatty has them capturing Captain Hamer and doesn't place Him at the scene of their ending. Common sense says if Bonnie and Clyde really captured Captain Hamer, they would killed Him in cold blood.
@grizzlyblackpowder196011 күн бұрын
Why they look up to Bonnie and Clyde when Texas had wayyyy cooler outlaws. I mean sure Bonnie and Clyde had a good run. But they didn't become a lawyer after prison.

I’m not sure if I’m wording this correctly but how fast do you have your lathe going when turning down outside dia, and also when cutting threads?
@jeerrrrrrryyyyy12 күн бұрын
@@mikerochburhns.102 it will depend on the diameter but roughly 2000 rpm turning down and roughly 80 rpm threading.

A little correction. The Browning A5 is a current offering and does NOT use the barrel-recoil action. That action belonged to the much older AUTO-5.

Great review. I have had my Sako TRG42 for over 20 years now. It took me 16 months to get one after ordering it. Cost me over £4,000 (english pounds) back then. It's the folding stock model in .300 win mag, complete with OEM bipod and muzzle break. The bipod on this rifle is key to get the best accuracy out of it.. I am now about to upgrade the scope for this rifle and am looking at getting the new Sightron S8 6x40x56 with 40mm tube. I am going to be using a Spuhr one piece mount that bolts directly to the receiver 16.5mm dovetail. I also use a ASE Utra supressor on the rifle. It makes the .300 as quiet as a .308. I hope you continue to enjoy this iconic rifle as I do mine.
@samwalker7821Ай бұрын
Actually, the pistol itself has NO screws. The slotted screw like part on the magazine catch is not a screw but a catch that holds the mag assembly together under spring tension. Push in on the catch and turn the slotted piece about 90 degrees and the catch can be removed as a unit just like on a 1911 pistol. The rear sight actually does have a screw for windage adjustment. The only screw on the gun.

I immediately recognized the jig as designed by "The Viper" Bob Pastor. I took his barrel chambering class and we used that jig. Bob is a riot and prince of a fellow. Bob had me laughing my ass off most the time, but learned the solids on chambering and muzzle end business. I'm in debate over using range rods to just using long bore dial indicator to alleviate the cost of buying multiple caliber sized rods and bushings. I also just watched "The Real Gunsmith" video where he chambers between centers with a holder at the breech end and uses a hand held reamer holder backed by live center. Lots of ways to skin a cat!
@jeerrrrrrryyyyyАй бұрын
@@bfdadventure I bet Bob is a character! I agree with you that there are a bunch of different ways to improve the crown. I’ve gotten great results with the by hand method too, especially with the AK. I’ve cut by the dial indicator too, but I think the range of measurement is more accurate with the bore pin method. Having said that I’ve see great improvement using all three methods. Thank for the story about your time with Bob and your experience. I appreciate you checking out the video too.

The M&P was made in 1899, not 1905, I have many of the early Models, my first was a 4th change passed down to me from Del Norte County Sheriff's Austin Huffman and his son, my Great Uncle, Bud Huffman. You got the history very very wrong. I also have a Triple Lock, being restored at Tyler Gunworks, and have owned a few 35 Remingtons. Frank Hamer was a childhood hero of mine. And, along with Keith, greatly influenced my firearms, and my career in law enforcement. The modern cop with a 9mm and a 223 is ill served.

The Account I read in GO DOWN TOGETHER had Hamer during the ambush of Clyde and Bonnie using a Colt Monitor machine rifle. In the film Highwaymen he is shown using a Remington model 8
@robertbenson9797Ай бұрын
Excellent episode! Frank Hamer had bought several extended magazines from Hillyard Chemical in St. Joseph, Missouri. Hillyard, which is still in business today, operated The Police Supply Company. In the 1930’s and 1940’s, this was one of the leading police tactical companies in the US. The magazines that Captain Hamer bought were 10 round. I believe the standard magazine was five rounds. The .35 Remington, is often overlooked compared to the .30/30 Winchester. The .35 had a heavier bullet and an edge in energy. While Marlin did chamber the Model 336 lever action rifle in .35 Remington, the fact that the .30/30 was offered in the Model 94 Winchester lead to it’s greater popularity. The .30/30 may have killed more whitetail deer, the .35 Remington killed Bonnie and Clyde!

I polished a milspec trigger and was amazed at the difference. So much so that I'm hesitant to buy another Larue MBT2 trigger. Couple tips. A larger piece of wet sandpaper attached to a clipboard will help speed the surface finishing. Just keep the angle correct. Also, when polishing, going with the rotation is polishing and going against is considered cutting, by those in the polishing profession, but I can't tell the difference in finish. For even more polishing Don't forget the portion of the hammer that rubs the belly of the carrier. Excellent video.

What is interesting to me is that the Model 8 Remington is so named because it was introduced in 1908; 116 years ago. When people get all torqued up about modern AR format rifles; i.e. magazine fed, semi-automatic firearms , remind them that this ain't a new concept. Remington introduced this magazine fed, semi-auto rifle116 years ago.

In my humble opinion, a holster is a holster. As long as it looks the same and works the same, and it is made of genuine leather, it makes no difference to me when it is made. Actually, I thought the newer version in the video looks better. Now for the firearm itself, that is different!
