I often randomly check out people's KZbin channels if they comment on my videos, and you have some cool videos - but I had to comment on this one. Napoleon Dynamite is in my top 10 movies ever. I got to see it in theatres opening week (can't believe that was 20 years ago!) and it was one of the best movie experiences of my life - Princess Theatre on Whyte and a great crowd, total riot. I also just found an original Napoleon Dynamite talking figure at Value Village so it's fresh on my mind. I've always wanted to learn the dance, you and Napoleon are much braver than me. Too many great quotes from the movie - but I hope all your wildest dreams come true. Cheers from Edmonton!

yes, and then with a pliers, you can make the cone hole a bit bigger, then use the pliers to put the knot inside the cone then clamp it down

Hello and thank you for the tutorial , im currently making myself a new dress and stubled on your videos ! How did you measure your top part ? I seem to be having alot of issues with that part
@TiannaFrankBear Жыл бұрын
You can measure across your shoulders on the back, like shoulder seam to shoulder seam, or use a shirt that you have too
@TiannaFrankBear Жыл бұрын
Then just measure around bust, and then I measure around where my belly button is and add like 2ish inches to that

your a great teacher I am 46 years old and just learning to make a jingle dress for my daughter. The thread you bought is what I buy to do my quilts and your right about them getting the job done. I make star quilts and so if my dress making doesn't work out can I hire you to make my daughter her dresses? I will keep on trying but still I'm serious about hiring you.

How do you know what the measurements for each side of each piece of the pattern is supposed to be, like what parts of myself do i measure for what and what part of the pattern does that correspond to?
@TiannaFrankBear Жыл бұрын
Sorry for the super late reply. I measure across the shoulders, then the bust, my stomach. Arm length too, from the shoulder seam, I always make the arms longer now too because on this dress my arms were a bit too short. Then I usually make the bottom of the dress like 60"ish around to have lots of room for walking and dancing. Connect the bottom length to the stomach measurement and that's how you'll get the flair of the dress. And also add a couple inches from your original measurements!

You need a pliers, and maybe a glove though, to protect your hand. A bottle nose pliers works best. Make the top of the cone hole bigger, with the pliers then put the knotted tab in there and clamp it down

Here's a general tip about thread. If your thread is "cross wound" it should come off the cone from the end. If your thread is "straight wound" it should roll off the spool perpendicularly away from the spool. I am a quilter & I wish someone had told me this when I first started. It makes a difference in maintaining the strength of the thread & the finish of the thread, for example a shiny thread vs a matte thread. Nice tutorial. You did / explained a lot, made good use of your time.
@TiannaFrankBear3 жыл бұрын
Thank you! I dont know what you mean with the thread but ill try look it up 😁
@bythebayou53513 жыл бұрын
@@TiannaFrankBear if you look at your spool of thread, the thread will wind around the spool either at an angle & will cross itself, or the thread will lie beside itself straight around the spool. The former is cross wound & the latter is straight wound. If you look it up, you will find some sites devoted to quilting or general sewing. Good luck! I will try to find you a link later on. Heading out to work now

@TiannaFrankBear3 жыл бұрын
I use a pliers, one thats skinny at the tip. It kind of hurts the hand so maybe wear a glove or something. I used the pliers to make the hole bigger on the jingle cone, then shove the jingle Tab that has a knot on the bottom into the cone, then clamp it shut
@normamoore19893 жыл бұрын
I worked in alterations for close to 30 years. It might be possible be possible to add length to the shorter dress. If you can drop the hem and add the fabric to it as wide as the length you need to add to make it long enough. You could cover the seem with ribbon, tape or jingles. I really enjoyed your video. :)
