Here's a general tip about thread. If your thread is "cross wound" it should come off the cone from the end. If your thread is "straight wound" it should roll off the spool perpendicularly away from the spool. I am a quilter & I wish someone had told me this when I first started. It makes a difference in maintaining the strength of the thread & the finish of the thread, for example a shiny thread vs a matte thread. Nice tutorial. You did / explained a lot, made good use of your time.

Thank you! I dont know what you mean with the thread but ill try look it up 😁
@bythebayou53513 жыл бұрын
@@TiannaFrankBear if you look at your spool of thread, the thread will wind around the spool either at an angle & will cross itself, or the thread will lie beside itself straight around the spool. The former is cross wound & the latter is straight wound. If you look it up, you will find some sites devoted to quilting or general sewing. Good luck! I will try to find you a link later on. Heading out to work now

Thank you for sharing your video. The way i put my thread spool on my macine is to put a 2 inch by 3 quarter inch round spool thread inside of the big one. So you wont need the jar anymore.

A suggestion for marking the fabric: dressmakers pencil. Or needle and thread to hand baste your line and either pull the thread out later or sew right over it.

Great video, I am making a dress for my 8yr old daughter and came across your video. One part I may have missed was how you got you pattern, how did you measure to make it I mean. And how do you add your cones? I watched the whole 2 videos waiting to get to that part and the video ended with out it lol, its ok though, there will be others to watch on here. But great job! Keep making your tutorials 😊 i always follow indigenous KZbinrs. ❤ looking forward to the next video

So how do u put the cones on?
@TiannaFrankBear6 жыл бұрын
Vernee Demontiney I use a pliers, with a slim tip.. not sure the exact name but I use it to widen the hole of the cone, then put it onto the bias tape then clamp it shut

Ill make a video on how to cone 😁
@TiannaFrankBear2 жыл бұрын
You need a pliers, and maybe a glove though, to protect your hand. A bottle nose pliers works best. Make the top of the cone hole bigger, with the pliers then put the knotted tab in there and clamp it down

How do you put the jingles on ?
@TiannaFrankBear3 жыл бұрын
I use a pliers, one thats skinny at the tip. It kind of hurts the hand so maybe wear a glove or something. I used the pliers to make the hole bigger on the jingle cone, then shove the jingle Tab that has a knot on the bottom into the cone, then clamp it shut
@rounddancefan16 жыл бұрын
I have a question? what size bias tape to use on toddler cones?
@TiannaFrankBear6 жыл бұрын
rounddancefan1 depends on the cones, if you’re using the regular sized cones, you can use double fold. If they’re the baby cones.. I actually cut the double fold in half because the baby cones are so small. It worked for me.. but other than that, I’m not sure 😅

I really want to know how to add the cones because you tied the knots and sewed the tabs down…?
@TiannaFrankBear6 ай бұрын
yes, and then with a pliers, you can make the cone hole a bit bigger, then use the pliers to put the knot inside the cone then clamp it down
