It's honestly not a dangerous job. As long as you do everything properly. It's more of a perception of danger.

I am training my level 1 currently. The training Center were of course really hot on drumming rope protection into us. the carpet rated ? Additionally it has no fix point and could move ?
@BrodyYYC12 күн бұрын
This is a really old video. I think I wrote in the description to NEVER use carpet. The issue is when you're on your ropes you're causing the rope to bounce up and down on the edge and the fibres from some carpet can eat through the sheathing. My favourite rope pro by far is the STREP Edge Mat.

Crazy how 2 vastly different realities can exist so close to each other. Literally separated by a pane of glass. It’s like someone who’s escaped the matrix looking in on people who are still inside.

Was wondering what you rigged your ropes to, is that pipe a pipe? Or some kind of reinforced concrete bollard?

So many bad practices imo. The bucket on the side with no lanyard attached and the to hold it with one hand over the edge while attempting to attach it and with people clearly seen walking directly underneath!! Wtf- you’d be off my site in a millisecond- and I’m not even a rope access technician! 😂
@BrodyYYC2 ай бұрын
@@troubleshooting114 this is an 8 year old video and it's how people did things then. I literally talk about all the bad practices in the description. If you think you're so intelligent you might want to watch some of my new videos and try to find any bad practices at all 😂

What if the bucket handle broke while hanging that high??
@BrodyYYC3 ай бұрын
The owner of this company manufactures these bucket harnesses specifically for this. But it's still something I've thought about for sure and honestly I think it would tip over on the way down and dump all the water making the bucket less heavy. Either way you still wouldn't want to get hit with an empty bucket which is why you always make a zone below you. If you're not in the middle of the woods like I was here. Also I wouldn't call this video very high :P

may I ask a question. what is the point in the alpine butterfly with the two ropes is that just to keep the two ropes together while they go over the side ?
@BrodyYYC4 ай бұрын
@@robere7 it's for positioning. Though in this situation it wasn't really necessary.

It makes you think about life working up high like that, for me anyway. But you still feel kind of invisible to the rest of the world believe it or not. I’ve worked alone doing this .. “summer job” @ 22 turned into a 20yr career. There will always be windows people don’t / can’t clean. There’s a technique to maneuvering the squeegee , water purity, a superb surfactant & a lot of hard work. & of course you Gotta like “getting hjgh” if you gonna be a window cleaner ! Haha

I've never seen anyone clean glass as thoroughly as you do. However, it is still questionable whether the entire building line can be wiped down with just a few towels. This is not your story, this is a question for all rope workers.In my opinion, instead of cleaning it by continuously using detergent and dirty water, you are contaminating the entire window frame.

Love watching these videos. They help me keep up to date on my rigging abilities. The jobs I take on are typically unconventional, where no one has ever rope accessed it before and there are few, if any fixed anchor points. Often have to get creative, and purchase new equipment. The great thing about no fixed anchor points is that I have virtually no competition to bid against me and I can charge whatever I need to.
