I think I am the exact same way with TheLastStory. Wanted to play it for the longest time and when I did, it was a bit of a miss. Tbf, I didnt put much time into it, but it didnt grab me. Astro looks incredible and GG on the plat 💙 Yakuza stuff has always been a bit daunting, I need to dive head first at some point.

SNES 4 and 6 are light years above the rest. 7 is excellent though flawed.

Playing anything but the SNES version is sacrilege.

10 is my favourite for story and the optional endgame grind. Maxing out characters to 255 stats was fun and the dark aeons. Anima is my favourite aeon from ALL FF games.

I don’t think Final Fantasy IX’s “Underrated”. It’s already a masterpiece. Aside from the bajillion spin offs, if we’re only talking about the the most underrated Final Fantasy game… then the most underrated Final Fantasy games, would have to go to the sequels to the main numbered entries.

I love the games and the direction they’re heading but it kinda bums me out we’re probably not getting a more serious crime drama type story 😔 I love infinite wealth so much and the entire time I played it all I could tell myself was “this is definitely my favorite yakuza game” but then when I was done I just couldn’t see myself putting it above 0. 0 just had that certain feeling plus you could literally put anyone you know on to it

I actually disagree with basically the entirety of your list except for Yakuza 0’s placement, however it was still very interesting to hear your rankings and opinions on this series because it’s so different! Very fun to hear your takes! And as you said, there is no bad game in the series. My list would be: 1. Yakuza 0 2. I have a feeling it's also gonna hurt since he has amnesia. Let's not forget he failed to save his brother, lost his eye, was tortured for a solid year, was trapped in Sotenbori for even longer, was used by everyone, lost the women he loved, AND THAT'S JUST ZERO. This game could be the ultimate evolution to Majima's character and him accepting his life as of now.

Yeah. I just didn't like Squall as a character compared to Cloud. The "we all came from the same orphanage and memory loss is why we don't remember" revelation really soured me too at the time. I like the gameplay nowadays, and there are aspects to the world that are enjoyable and I like certain characters and story elements, but the focus on Squall and Rinoa's love story takes me out of the overall conflict. All in all, I have mixed feelings about this game. All the music is top notch though, with some of it being me favorite tracks in the series. The art style, character designs, and graphics are top notch too.

English title is so ass, Just Pirates in Hawaii sounds way better, other than that Madlantis is basically castle from gaiden, and my very stupid theory is that kiryu actually died so Majima like jumped off the cliff or something like that, or no

As a huge Final Fantasy 12 fan I can say the soundtrack isn't that special for a Final Fantasy game. I think it perfectly fits the game itself since areas are mostly based around worldbuilding and atmosphere instead of portraying the feeling of what is currently happening in the story. That being said the most memorable songs for me are probably The clan Hall - Zodiac Age version Discarded Power - Zodiac Age version and the Battle on the Big Bridge (I know it's a song that is in many different FF games, but I like this version the most)

I'd say yes. Considering we will still have amazing combat, music and something as insane and befitting of majima as him becoming a pirate.

This game maybe underated for some people,but if you ask which ff is the best..most of jrpg lover and ff lover will put ff9 in one of the top 5 for sure.

I legit adore the series and I love every single one of the games on here. It’s hard to rank (well besides 3-5, loved them and 3 legit made me cry but I like the wackiness and zany stuff of everything else from 0 onward) because they’re all legitimately so good and have their own zaniness When it comes to even the worse entry (mainly 3 but solely because it’s gameplay is outdated and kinda trash lol) they’re all at the least 8 or 9 and above for me personally

Been a fan of the franchise for a couple years now I'm very excited for this game. RGG Studios seems like the only video game company to take creative risks and follow on them completely it's really nice. I'm honestly so shocked this game is canon.

So I actually ranked them as I played through them for the first time. I started with 0, and made my way through the series before 7 released, so I have all of them ranked except for 7, 8, and the spin-offs. Tho I plan on tackling the Judgement series, Ishin, and ofc 7 and 8 soon. I know my ranking might be... controversial. But either way: 1. Yakuza Kiwami 2 2. Yakuza 0 3. Yakuza 5 4. Yakuza 3 5. Yakuza 4 6. Yakuza 6 7. Yakuza Kiwami I know Kiwami being so low might upset some people, but frankly it doesn't hold up compared to 0 imo, not in the story or in a lot of the mechanics. I actually almost gave up on the series during Kiwami, as the soap opera story and dialogue were really killing me. Maybe I eventually just got used to it, as the other entries also have some truly awful soap opera writing, but Kiwami was the toughest for me to get through. My guess is that it's because I was coming from 0, arguably the best in the series. So my expectations were high. Probably should replay them at some point to get a more balanced opinion, but for now this is the ranking.

Will this be the weirdest yakuza game? I sure hope so. Majima deserves nothing less.

I'm gonna be so disappointed if there's no NG+ My least favorite thing about Gaiden was it's lack of NG+, I don't even care if I have to pay for it, just please let there be NG+ in this game

Yeah looks amazing! Combat alone especially with the addition of Aerial Combat has made me go INSANE Im all for Like A Dragon/Yakuza exploring/taking different directions and trying out new things, as well as not being too afraid to be silly and wacky but also balanced with emotional depth.
