Kari, you make things so practical and simple. I need to just focus on sketching I think when I’m out. That is also my weakness. I love the warm grey you used in your marsh painting. I know you’ve been using the Kuratake paints lately. What is the name of that shade? I love the warmth of it-almost sepia like.

Late on commenting. In Apalachicola area for a change of scenery. I’ve been experimenting with continuous line drawing as well and find it very freeing. The loose sketching makes drawing and painting a lot more fun and relaxing. I really liked the way you drew the palm fronds! Great tip on addressing areas that were too dark!

@KariWaltzАй бұрын
It isn't considered an EXPO, but it has 12 invited artists who are national/internationally known. There are only 70 participants, so the ratio of artist to student is much better. There are usually three vendors: Michael Harding paint, Silver Brush Co. and a framing company that unfortunately I can't remember their name.
