I wanted to play Marvel Rivals but I don't have a machine that runs it, oh well I trust its good like you said. I really like the art direction Here's what my list would be, I spent most of the year playing the rest of Zelda and random platformers and freeware. only played 2 games that actually released in 2024 1. The Messenger (2018) 2. TLOZ Links awakening DX (1998) 3. Pizza Tower (2023) 4. Rivals of Aether (2017) 5. TLOZ Skyward sword (2011) 6. TMNT Shredders Revenge (2022) 7. TLOZ Echoes of wisdom (2024) 8. Berserk Boy (2024) 9. TLOZ Oracle of Ages (2001) 10. Tower of Heaven (2009) I highly recommend the messenger to anyone whos fond of 2d platformers

I got a free 36" Toshiba recently with component, s-video, composite and RF. I had to do a LOT of adjustment, and it nearly killed me, and the two other people it took to get up the stairs. It was totally worth it though. If you have never played Super Monkey Ball one for the Gamecube on a CRT through component, or at all, you should.

Japanese PS3 with FF graphics! We need to get you a box cutter! I still have my family’s regular US PS3 because none of them wanted it, the HDD on mine has been removed so I’ll have to restore that. That thing is so sick though.

I have a box cutter, but knives are more fun! What I need is a switchblade so I can do flippy knife tricks! Get an SSD for your PS3. Slightly improves load times and XMB speed. And just a tad quieter.

I had a period a few years ago where I sold off a lot of my collection, and restarted! I had collected a bunch of crap I didn't have any intent of playing. Now my collection is smaller, but full of games I love, have played, or will definitely play eventually. The problem is, I usually beat one or 2 games, and add 3 more haha!

I have the exact same relationship with all of my great passions and hobbies in life. Nostalgia feels like it will last forever, but the truth is, like you say, you’re creating that exact same nostalgia right now, you just don’t realize it yet but you will later… I think when we look back on our early years of gaming, especially if we grew up during the golden ages of them, it seems like those memories will remain forever special, and I honestly don’t know how I’ll feel about my deepest, earliest nostalgia way down the line. Something tells me I’ll always love the box art for StarFox 64… I think you nailed it and hit up on something in this video that’s been very hard for me to articulate for a long time so thank you for that . Would you care if I make a video talking about this exact same topic if I reference you for where I got the idea in my head ? (My channel is all live streams rn no scripted content yet)

Hey man, I relate to a lot of your thoughts and concerns. I tend to overthink a lot how i do stuff on my channels, what to pursuit etc And ofc, as most collectors, there is always the 'will i care about all this in the future?' I agree with most stuff you said. To me nostalgia is hard to put into words, coz i feel it encompasses so many things It is such a hard emotion to experience, let alone having to describe What helps me when it comes to the question of 'will i care?', is to think that my future self will be the judge of that. And even if my interests or goals change, that will be the journey I am on for ^^

I think nostalgia strikes with video games in particular because we can now as adults buy and own the actual games and consoles from our childhood and play them. There are perhaps not many tangible nostalgic pieces of our childhood or past that one can buy, play, and collect which brings happiness. Maybe comics, books, or other media?

Truth! I think the physical represenation is powerful. I sometimes find myself asking what journey games I pick up secondhand may have been on. Finding that damaged label on an old Mario cart and thinking... I wonder who owned this? If a family enjoyed it together? It's a strange thought.

Nostalgia is something I think I have an odd relationship with. I rarely experience it. I may go back to media I'm familiar with but it doesn't really 'take me back.' My nostalgia mostly shows itself in 'spaces' whether physical or online. Like going to Gaia Online is nostalgic but shows or games from that exact time aren't. There are some other examples like seeing those Kids WB interstitial/commercials. I think with those a big part of it is you don't really see them anymore.
@Jonnicom
@Jonnicom Ай бұрын
So funny you brought up Gaia... I revisted that recently! Went through the trouble of getting back all of my rare items from back in the day. zOMG! is still kind of fun! I find nostalgia in spaces too. For some reason, I feel really intense connections to places, almost spiritual in a way. One odd place like that for me is my grandparents house (now my aunt and uncles house), the basement... there's some magic in there I swear!

Hah. Even if Eve was a dude named Steve.... I'd still love the game regardless(maybe a tiny, really really tiny bit less). The fighting in this game is just so damn fun. But I have to thank Wukong for really peaking my interest in Stella Blade. I tried the demo when it was first out, I sucked at it. I thought it was too hard for me. Didn't buy it. But after I platinum'd Wukong, I gave SB a go, didn't even retry the demo, just straight up bought it. Man, I didn't know why I thought the demo was so hard before. Pretty much 1st trying most of the bosses in this game. I get it, it wasn't supposed to be a hard game, but I sucked at these type of games before playing Wukong.

I pre ordered this game and got it on release, and have yet to go through it 0_0. I have a hectic life, plus a huge back log of games. But I've tried it out at least and it really reminds me of Nier automata, which I really love and played through years ago. I will make time for this game. Question: @Jonnicom did you playthrough with English voice or korean?

to me, stellar blade had the best story among all games, raven became broken when her AI logic found her creator was a liar so she redefined her prime directive and went up against mother. mother sphere redefinded her own prime directive to save all humans by eliminating all humans, adam was a PROPER mad scientist trying repopulate the earth with his male DNA. to me eve was a brainless kind-hearted AI who would love to learn human value through collecting soda cans and clothes and helping others. the game executed all these quietly which made me ponder even more, i liked it very much, instead of giving us all the answers directly and verbally.

NOW I'M NOT SAYING that the game having an extremely attractive main character DIDN'T help my enjoyment of the game. But it is far from the reason to play. Seriously, you gotta give this one a shot, especially if you're a fan of PS2 era hack n slash action games. Bayonetta meets DmC meets Demon's Souls. You can't go wrong.

How do you deal with battery life? I still have my psp and i bought some third party bootleg batteries and theyre horrible, they die after 1-2 hrs of use. I watched some 4000mah mod youtube tutorials but im little hesitant doing it on my own. Do you mod the battery of yours?
