Thanks for checking out the video version. While shorts are a great way to get out there, I prefer to do videos... even if it's just a few more seconds on information in this case.

Actually it was a side game to the final fantasy series, the full Japanese title of the game was Seiken Densetsu: Final Fantasy Gaiden. Seiken Densetsu was originally going to be the subtitle of their game project The Emergence of Excalibur for the Famicom but that project was scrapped. After Final Fantasy 3 was released Square offered designer Koichi Ishii to direct a spin-off series game. It began development for the Game Boy under the working title Gemma Knights; eventually, Square revived the trademarked name and released the game as Seiken Densetsu: Final Fantasy Gaiden. It's why moogles make an appearance, as well as a chocobo.... with the most ear grating chocobo theme.

This is one of the first games i played on gameboy, i was in middle school at the time i first played it. I enjoyed it, but felt it was short after the 3rd playthrough. When i started playing final fantasy legends, thats when i noticed it was shorter. None the less it solidified a core memory of my youth of playing gameboy games, and now i have to play the gameboy advance remake i didnt know was related to it lol.

It's a good remake! I just prefer simpler 8 bit sprites!
