The easiest way to remove that pin without damaging the frame is by bumping it out with a 3/32 pin punch using a palm nailer. Roll of tape is a good rest. Remove the take down lever and reattach the slide for extra support. Don't jackhammer it practice a couple times on a block of wood to get the hang of controlled single impacts. This makes removing that pin the simplest step in this process.

Outstanding video with clear and well spoken instructions. The sequence of operations was spot on. I had purchased an Apex trigger and disconnect for the sub 4lb pull. When I got the gun back from the gunsmith it worked for 5 pulls in the store. When I got home, the gun would not fire or fired after a 1 second delay. Brought the gun back, they couldn't figure it out and installed the stock disconnect. The trigger was back to stock or worse. I was pissed. Fast foreward after some mid-par shooting I figured I could be a jr. gunsmith. Watched this vid a few times and had no issues taking the gun apart, identifying that the gunsmith had reversed one of the trigger bar springs 180 degrees so the spring was reversed. Fixed that, reassemble, THAT TRIGGER IS NOW AWESOME!

Old vid but I’ve had 2 of the enhanced trigger on a M&p 9c and 40c. Just picked up a nickel plated 40c, put just the apex enhanced trigger on it and had a “dead” trigger. I didn’t get a feeler gauge. Just a flat head screw driver and opened it up a bit. Dry fired it and way better.

Excellent video. Every step was thoroughly explained. This made it extremely clear as to how this trigger and it’s associated components are installed. That said, sometimes I know I’ve had one too many concussions. In all honesty, I checked the position of that trigger bar before installing it 20 times. No exaggeration. Not only did I install the trigger bar wrong the first time, but I also installed it wrong the second time. If this happens to you, find the appropriate sized punch, use a phenolic block or something else that won’t mar your finish and very carefully punch that trigger pin back out just to the point of *almost* recessed. Be careful not to hit the actual trigger bar. I taped the trigger to a wooden block that had a hole drilled so that the pin could back out. It worked for me twice and I’m no mechanical genius. Just be extremely careful.

Is it the same instructions to the m&p2.0 polymer frame??
@apextacticalАй бұрын
Essentially it is the same, but the metal frame has the polymer buffer inserts which require a bit of different order of operations.

LOL! "Why don't I recommend lubricating the rails inside the slide. Uh, just because". There's no difference between lubing the slide or frame. They join together.

I just pulled my firing pin out and I in fact do not have that little polymer sleeve in there. Apparently they didn't put it in in the factory? This is the first time I've taken it out. Will s&w send me one?
@iSmokeWorkАй бұрын
This video is kind of controversial because alot of people who do videos on lubrications recommend that you oil the inner parts of the slide. This is the first time that I've heard to only lube the frame but that's makes a lot of sense too. 🤔

I have a Hellcat. I am going to get these extended controlls added on. They are not cheap. I figure, it may run up to 100.00 in parts & labor??? I hope not that much. I want a professional to do it. I am not mechanically inclined.

Is it possible to just replace the trigger without having to mess with the rear sights?
@apextacticalАй бұрын
On a Shield yes, you can purchase just the trigger or the complete kit and leave the striker block out. You'll just wind up with a more gritty trigger pull than with the striker block.
