A 6' pasarelle on the back means this is really an 80ft boat.

James, I hope you and your family are OK with the changes at Sunseeker. I know you won't be able to post back, but sending hugs

Nice boat...but for $231k US?!?!?! Um...no. A Ranger Tug R-23, or an R-25. Or a Cutwater C-248, or Solara 250-C put this to shame, for far less

You set such high standards with your boat tours James, that I don’t watch others at all anymore. Thanks for showing us around, I enjoyed it.

Well done James, you make it look so easy. No doubt there are many years of experience and skill that goes into it.

That is a fair price. Love the black but would wrap middle part. I would put seakeaper, desalination system, IPS, washer/dryer and owen. It would make it perfect.

I have this odd notion that you have done a similar manoeuvre previously 🤔 . If I had been at the helm it is likely that I would of lost my no claims bonus . Thanks for sharing.

That was brilliant , really enjoyed that, well done. I know it’s your job but it is still amazing how you controlled that boat with the wind

Would you suggest opting for hydraulic thrusters for boats of this size or are they just a ‘nice to have’?
@davidg1410Ай бұрын
I always enjoy your manoeuvring video's James with your relaxed and calm demeanour! They demonstrate that handling a large boat is not a big deal if you get your head in the right place and don't allow yourself to get phased out or excited. I always feel my calmest when handling my Princess 61 in tight spaces and not having the benefit of a stern thruster. I find that 250hp on each prop at tick over can do a lot using the throttles alone.

And that folks is how it’s done,lots of calm and experience on show from James who is once again the consummate professional doing such things

Probably a great spec for down under in NZ too. Our weather generally is better than the UK, but worse by far than the med. Something like this hits a good balance besides the short range. One issue in NZ and aus is the sheer distances of coastline. 300nm just doesn't cut it. More local brands sometimes use foil assist and big tanks to get 1500nm ranges at 30 knots. The one thing I can think of - could a predator be run with trailing pumps? What about a watermaker and some PV? It's nice to be able to blat around at 35, but then cut back to 12 for leisurely travel between regions.

In the sauna area, what were the 3-4 deck hatches in the floor. They looked like windows of some kind.

Finally something in my price range...how long does it take to learn to control a boat this size and complete any recommended causes to be safe on the water?
@TheVirtualYachtBroker2 ай бұрын
A 3-day ICC (International Certificate of Competence), which is the equivalent of an RYA Powerboat Level II is a good starting point for something like this. Gives some basic knowledge of handling/passage planning and safety. Costs about £1500 and ideal if you've got a wife/partner to do together (lower cost for second student if doing on your own boat), then you're both safe if something happens to the other one. It would also help you get insured for coastal use.
