How do you get the gas block after the rail is in?
@H_Hold5 ай бұрын
I could use some help and I'm not finding anything on it. I've got an ar-10, got an engraved dust cover as one does; but the rod its mounted on can't actually move out; I bought the completed upper so it came assembled like this, there's material on the rail preventing the removal of that rod.
@MeMadeIt4 ай бұрын
Lots of YT vid on how to uninstall/install dust covers with an assembled upper. It isn't as easy as shown here but it's not that hard.
@H_Hold4 ай бұрын
@@MeMadeIt idk wym; I can't find any that have what's going on with mine. There's no opening for the pin to slide out towards the stock, about .25" of it sticks out towards the barrel but part of the rail is physically in the way of this pin, about 2/3 of the diameter of the pin is blocked so it's not something a lil bit of bending and effort could get done.
@brett93825 ай бұрын
Bro just take the bcg out and oil the rails, it takes an extra 10 seconds

@quickshot1008 ай бұрын
Just hold the barrel straight up and pour a judicious amount of oil down the barrel then cycle the bolt several times. After that shake the excess oil out and you're good to go😮

I would take out bolt and lube contact points but that’s just me
@WesternEagle2239 ай бұрын
I’d separate the upper and lower with the back pin and do that, maybe take out the bolt assembly and lubricate that too. But that isn’t cleaning
@Elchucknorris64149 ай бұрын
I would not put oil in the two holes where gas is to escape. I don’t think there’s any value in that other than may be attracting dirt and causing a failure somewhere down the road potentially. Those two holes are for gas to escape and I don’t believe lubing does anything positive on that.

I was in Berlin recently and every single pre 1940s building is absolutely riddled with small arms fire from these types of Soviet weapons. By early 1945 the Soviets had huge quantities of these weapons going against unequipped Volksturmm reserves in Berlin often equipped with single shots rifles, whilst also being outnumbered nearly 10 to 1. Truly terrifying to have been a German soldier at that point in the war.
