I thought that this video was unusually puerile and stupid, even for Mr. Wood. His silly little charade to open the video is both inane and insulting to his audience, although he tops himself towards the end of the video chanting "sky daddy": over and over, as if he were actually making a point. And then the very question being asked, 'what is the best argument for atheism?', both begs the question, in that It presumes that there need be an argument for atheism without demonstrating such a need, as well as ducking the real question, why does someone disbelieve the claims of Christian theism? The commonest form of atheism, 'I don't have a belief that there is a god,' requires no supporting argument, and it is not clear how it would benefit from such. It is simply a statement of lack of belief, and to assert that such a statement needs a supporting argument is an unwarranted presumption, thus begging the question. It simply is a statement to the effect that you claim there is a god, and I don't believe that claim. Implicit in the statement I suppose is the notion that whatever reasons or evidence that you have put forth in support of your belief are not adequate to convince me, but I have no need to present an argument t in support of my lack of belief. Moreover, Mr. Wood, like most apologists, is ducking the real question here, which is that most self-described atheists living in a place such as the United States, where both Mr. Wood and I live and where most of the citizens profess at least to be Christians,, aren't really arguing that they disbelieve in a god or gods in the abstract. They really aren't taking a stance regarding deism for example. They are saying that they disbelieve in the Christian god. Seriously, this video is pathetic. I am an atheist, and have been for over seventy years. Although brought up in a Presbyterian family, they weren't terribly observant and I never came to believe in it. Christian stories were just stories, like the Greek or Norse myths, and frankly less engaging. I am an atheist because the claims of theism are not convincing and especially in the case of Christian theism, make virtually no sense whatsoever. You say that because a naive woman took a bite from a piece of fruit, your god caused all of the pain, suffering, misery and death that we see in the world? Yeah, I would need a serious load of evidence before I could buy that story. And there is no such load of evidence aside from the claims of Genesis itself. That's why I'm an atheist, because the claims of theism are largely baseless and for the most part nonsensical. As to whether there is some creator god in the abstract, such as the god posited by the deists, I tend to believe that there is none but I recognize that there could be such an entity. We don't know and lack any way of knowing, and I don't feel strongly one way or the other with regard to the question. As between a self-existing cosmos or a cosmos created by a self-existing god, Occam's Razor suggests that the simpler answer is the better one, and I suppose that that is an argument for atheism, that is, the argument for theism is weaker..
