I cannot and will not call Mary the Mother of God, but I do call her the Mother of Jesus because she knew him fully child and eventually fully man. She knew him as Son of God, and as he grew in wisdom and stature she knew him as one of the God head. She learned over time from the first time that he was to become her saviour too.

Jesus is truly God and truly Man. Remember the Trinity? Jesus possesses the fullness of deity because He is the second person of the Trinity and each person is co-equally and simultaneously God. - Mary gave birth to Jesus (the second person of the Trinity). Therefore, Mary is the mother of God. - This does NOT mean that Mary is divine, this is simply the logical conclusion in saying that Mary gave birth to Jesus (who was truly God and truly Man). - See, there’s actually a very big theological problem with saying “Mary only gave birth to Jesus in His human nature.” - The problem is that, when you say Mary only gave birth to the human nature, you are denying that Christ was born with a divine nature and, therefore, denying the Hypostatic Union (which is a dogma essential to the Gospel) OR you are separating the two natures of Christ (which is the heresy of Nestorianism.) - As a Protestant, there should be no issue in calling Mary the mother of God because she’s the mother of Jesus who is truly God. - Again, this doesn’t make Mary divine in any way. - A lot of people have a misconception of what calling Mary “the mother God” entails. - I’m kind of a theology nerd, so I tried to give a simple explanation and not be too technical 😅. So am I glad. The fact that Mary is mentioned so often in the Quran could show that Roman Catholicism influenced the invention of Islam. Some of the Islam "prophet's" relatives were Roman Catholic. Look at how much Roman Catholics venerate Mary, and that may have influenced the authors of the Quran to do the same.

One of the more intriguing aspects of the Qur’an is the conversation where God asks Jesus, "Did you say to the people to take you and your mother as gods besides Me?" (Qur'an 5:116). The irony here is that God is questioning Jesus about people worshiping him and his mother as part of the Trinity. However, this conversation raises some logical issues. The most plausible explanation is that the Qur'an was responding to the religious environment of the time it was written, where Christians were highly visible and their iconography prominently featured Jesus and Mary. This may have led early Muslims especially those from regions with little exposure to sophisticated art, literature, or established civilizations to believe that Mary was considered part of the Trinity, even though that was never the actual doctrine of mainstream Christianity. In conclusion, it seems obvious that the Qur'an was written by people who were observing what they saw in the Byzantine Empire, rather than reporting a genuine conversation between God and Jesus. This passage appears to be more of a political tool used to criticize the faith of the Byzantine Christians, especially during a time when there was conflict between the Persians, Jews, and Byzantine Christians. It was likely a strategic move to undermine the Byzantine Empire’s religious authority. When you really analyze this conversation closely, it becomes clear that the Qur’an was shaped by political humans religious context of that time, rather than being a divinely revealed text.

Mary’s parents were Joachim and Anna. If you could go back and ask Martin Luther he would have told you this. Mary had to leave the temple once she approached menarche. She needed a guardian. Widower St. Joseph . She would have been able to return when she was menopausal and St Joseph reposed. This is why we hear spoken of Jesus having brothers. St. Joseph’s children. There is also something very interesting in the Hadith about Mary. Even though her name doesn't appear there it says in Sahih Muslim 2366a. Abu Huraira reported Allah's Messenger as saying: No child is born but he is pricked by the Satan and he begins to weep because of the pricking of the Satan except the son of Mary and his mother. There is something very specific about Jesus and Mary, something which Adam does not have, Moses does not have and Muhammad does not have. We don’t get a clear explanation what that exactly means. But perhaps we get an idea when we look at some verses in the quran. Surah 6 verse 164 says: “no bearer of burdens will bear the burden of another.” (see also 35:18 and 53:38) I Islam every son of Adam commits sin (Sunan Ibn Majah 4251, Book 37, Hadith 152). So they all are bearers of burdens. Were Jesus and Mary bearers of burdens according to the quran? Or in other words, were they “sons of Adam”? The quran doesn’t mention any burdens of Mary or Jesus. Neither of them had times when they repented because they were wrongdoers (not like David, Adam or Jonah).. In Surah 3 verse 42 it says: “And when the angels said: O Mary! Lo! Allah hath chosen thee and made thee pure, and hath preferred thee above (all) the women of creation." Allah has made Mary pure. No other woman is mentioned by name in the quran. About no son of Adam it says that Allah made him pure. But …. Allah made a promise to Mary. When the spirit of Allah appeared to Mary he says in surah 19 verse 19: “I am only the messenger of your Lord, to give you the gift of a pure son.” Jesus is not a (biological) son of Adam, not in the bible and not in the quran. He is no bearer of burdens. The quran says that no bearer of burdens can bear the burdens of another. But the quran doesn’t say that someone without any burdens cannot bear the burdens of another. In case of Mary we are taught in the quran that Allah made Mary pure. Mary is the only human being besides Jesus that was not pricked by Satan at birth according to an authentic Hadith. You made a good point when you said the quran might include Mary in the trinity. But even in the quranic understanding, Jesus and Mary are very special.

Amram means "the Exalted People" and Aharon can means "the bearer of light", thus daughter of Amram and sister of Aharon in the Quran was originally a typological play on words, as sister in Hebrew and Ancient Egyptian poetry, "brother and sister" symbolised closeness, hence its usage in the Song of Songs. Now, who is "the bearer of light" in 2 Peter 1:19? I believe it is Christ, hence Mary being called, "the Sister of Aharon" meaning she iss the second Eve, for just as the first Eve formed the rib of the first Adam without the aid of woman, so too is the second Adam in the wormb of the second Eve without need of a man.

Jesus will not enter heaven except if God had mercy on him and allowed him to enter it. If all humans are a "copy" of Adam, all angels are a "copy" of one another, God is unique and no being is like Him. His word is true and what He says happens instantaneously. No human can be compared to God because God created ALL humans and all of everything. If God so willed, He would make physics and mathematics fail in our universe, so that objects would start floating rather than be pulled downward by gravity. He could cause all humans to forget what it means to be human and you would find people barking like dogs on the street corner. He had warned and threatened that the earth and the sky are going to rip themselves apart because people claimed that God has a son or even would have a son. The Quran says that if God really did have a son, the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) would be the first to worship this son. This means that God has no sons, not only Jesus, not only Ezra, not only Osiris, not only Odysseus.. God has NO sons whatsoever. Yet, at the same time, the Christians say "we are the children of God" and they called the angels the "daughters of God". Even if it doesn't mean EXACTLY children or EXACTLY daughters, just saying it would make God extremely angry. There is no wonder He doesn't hear your prayers. "God is a jealous God" said the Bible, and He doesn't like it when another being is worshipped instead of Him. The dichotomy that you draw between the story of Mary in chapter 19 and the chapter 6 is very oblivious and ignorant. God does not have a child and this was a response not only to the issue of Christians thinking that Jesus was the son, but also about God having any son or daughter. Christians who were told by their fellow Jews before them that God does not have any human similitude, resorted to saying that God has begotten, giving God the trivial imperfection of human reproduction. It is an outrageously disgusting thing to claim about God, who doesn't even have a physical form so as to do any of that. God says about Himself that He doesn't have a son because He doesn't have a partner/spouse. And you find that this relates to the issue of Mary having never been touched by a man, your comparison is very stupid, you're comparing a human with God, which is a futile comparison. Do you even know what "God" means?

Regarding 18:03, David has made a mistake due to a lack of awareness of the findings in historical criticism. There are two historical things to be aware of. Tritheism was a heresy at the time that the Qur'an is refuting, and not the trinity. Second, the holy spirit is thought of as a mother in Syriac Christianity, hence when you combine it with the heresy of tritheism, we can see that the Qur'an is actually saying "don't treat the separate persons of the trinity as separate gods." It is actually listing God as Allah (the Father), Jesus (the Son) and the Mother (the holy spirit). This should be obvious that the Qur'an knows Christians believe that it is the holy spirit that is the third person, as it mentions the spirit multiple times. I hope David corrects this. I am happy to furnish David with multiple Syriac sources confirming this and a photo of a church painting in Syria where the holy spirit is depicted as female, IE as a mother. Another separate issue is the concept of Semitic symmetry which depicts Mary as a temple priest hence why she is presented as a "sister of Aaron".

I don’t know about this “proto evangeliam of James,” I’ve never heard about a dove flying out of a staff and landing on the “old man Joseph,” and I surely don’t know what the heck you’re talking about with Mary Mother of Jesus being born to the same father as Moses and Aaron’s father. I do know that Joseph and Mary had other children other than Jesus and that brother James become the leader of the church in Jerusalem. I’ve never accepted that Mary was a “perpetual Virgin,” or immaculately conceived herself. I could be wrong on these things but there is a tendency to muddy waters of truth with religious traditions that sound good at the time but turn out to be false. Anyways, I’ll keep listening, hoping to gain understanding.
