I never knew about frame pumps; thanks for mentioning them. I currently have a large battery-operated pump that can be used as backup power, but it’s very heavy and takes up a lot of space in my backpack during my daily commute to and from from work. It’s also gone off in my bag a couple of times from the button getting pressed by stuff in the backpack and sounds like the world‘s loudest vibrator 🤦♀️😂🤣

Hello! First off, thanks for the video! Love it! I have a question. I really like the original frame color of my bike, but would like to add some flair and am curious if it’s possible to use Posca pens without stripping, sandblasting or sanding as I don’t want to lose the original frame color.
@BikesAndSnacks8 ай бұрын
Thanks for watching! Unfortunately, it isn't a good idea to paint without prepping the surface. The original bike paint is likely protected with a coating that will resist the paint you're applying. It might "work" but it won't be as nice, it will not "stick" the way it should, and it probably won't "paint" in the way you're used to. If you decide to do it anyways, just make sure you add a clear coat or it will literally wash away.

Hi , what pen did you use to outline your design before painting it with the posca pens ? :)
@BikesAndSnacks11 ай бұрын
The sketch was made on drawing paper in pencil, then outlined with a Micron pen... to transfer the sketch, I used carbon transfer paper sandwiched between the sketch and the frame. If you trace over the image with a pencil, the pressure on the carbon paper causes it to draw lines on the blank surface (the frame). So, I didn't use a pen... I hope that makes sense.

Hi it goes so fast and close I can’t figure out well how to put the Smallrig and the light bracket mount together . Do you have a clearer photo of the assembly? I did screen capture of the video at 2:55 but still difficult to get a good view Thanks
@BikesAndSnacks11 ай бұрын
The screen grab you took, and the one at 2:56 are basically it. The order on the bolt goes: wing nut, washer, light mount, washer, washer, nut, Small Rig lens support, then a final nut. Hand tighten and friction will hold it all in place. Let me know if things aren't working out.

Hey,nice job bro! Is it ok to clear coat it in these pens? Motivated me to get it done on my frame just thinking how to preserve it after 👌💯🔥

Yes, you MUST do a couple coats of clear coat or the paint runs. Thanks for watching.

Thanks. I did add two layers of clear coat, and a ceramic coating. The paint is still holding up great.

What I Learned From Painting My First Bike With POSCA Pens kzbin.info/www/bejne/mWiwd5aCd5iomJI
@BikesAndSnacks Жыл бұрын
Clear coat goes on last. Posca paint dries quickly, but wait a day just so you are sure you’re completely done… once the clear coat is on you can’t paint anymore. You HAVE to use clear coat to protect the Posca paint.

I found this channel while learning about probe lenses and looking for creative ways to make content. As I watched the video about filming the Pinarello F, I listened to your story about growing up poor. It struck me in a way few stories do. While I didn’t grow up poor, I also never developed a sense of entitlement that most people do when it comes to material things. I’ve been working in a bike shop for the past 38 years and I coached the Harvard cycling team for 15 years, but I could care less about ultra expensive bikes. I love the look and style of your videos, I love that you give your cycling coach a platform to reach more people. In my time coaching the Harvard kids I developed a method of bypassing the years most cyclists spend figuring out how to pedal, but I’m not reaching very many people. Theses days it takes flashy videos with slow motion shots and background music - I do none of that…

Okay so ... Uh, incredible. I just got my first bike as an adult (yoooooo and im only like 36, yoooo) and I was like "I should eff this thing up with POSCA pens" so I wanted to see if someone else did it -- and you did. You did such a sick job, my guy! Also I can't believe how much I love it both with the black lines and without. I think you made a bold choice choosing to put the lines on, but I'm thinking I might actually go sans-lines with a similar color palette. You definitely get a sub from me.
