Great tip, thank you. I wish the assembly would have been a bit slower to see how to do it properly.

Hi it goes so fast and close I can’t figure out well how to put the Smallrig and the light bracket mount together . Do you have a clearer photo of the assembly? I did screen capture of the video at 2:55 but still difficult to get a good view Thanks
@BikesAndSnacks11 ай бұрын
The screen grab you took, and the one at 2:56 are basically it. The order on the bolt goes: wing nut, washer, light mount, washer, washer, nut, Small Rig lens support, then a final nut. Hand tighten and friction will hold it all in place. Let me know if things aren't working out.

I got the grip but I don’t know how you attached the barrel grip to the rail. Can you make a follow up video breaking down the complete setup?
@BikesAndSnacks2 жыл бұрын
@@davidduongle You need some sort of lens support that bridges between the two rails, and the simple hardware at 2:37 in the video. Small Rig lens supports like the one below have a removable part where the lens rests. You just screw the grip into the lens support. At 2:55, you can see the grip lined up in front of the lens support and the lens support with the hardware linking them together. www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1554784-REG/smallrig_15mm_lws_universal_lens.html/?ap=y&ap=y&smp=y&smp=y&lsft=BI%3A6879&gclid=Cj0KCQiAjJOQBhCkARIsAEKMtO2La7cF8JB6clIa7D8rdjVPzaYRlTQomWEhygi04RoOqUdm7Q1fwMoaAnywEALw_wcB

It is a lot of fun, just make sure you have a lot of light and motion control for video… and, set your white balance because it skews super warm for some reason. Good luck and thanks for watching!

Sure! Good luck and thanks for asking.

Thanks. 2 questions. I'm not sure what the mount attaches to. And do you have a video explaining the focus ring? I have this lens but don't have anything to focus it with other than my hand. :-)
@BikesAndSnacks3 жыл бұрын
Sure thing. The motorcycle mount attaches to a lens support bridge that in turn attaches to the 15mm rods. The lens support bridge, rods, camera cage, and baseplate (to attach to the rods) are all listed with links in the video description. The focus ring is part of the "Cine" version of the lens. It sounds like you have the regular (non-Cine) version, which doesn't have the ring... so, you'll have to attach one. You can buy one (e.g., amzn.to/3JBMu0o) or try to 3D print one (www.thingiverse.com/make:632707). I'd lean towards 3D printing one (the library by me prints things for like 3-4 dollars) because the adjustable focus rings are meant for larger diameter lenses. Of course, the focus ring is spun by a wireless motor attached to one of the 15 mm rods. The focus motor I used is a listed in the description as well. Let me know if any of that is unclear.

Hi, about the Smallrig support, is the 1.4" (adjustment range) version sufficient? and thx for this tip!
@BikesAndSnacks2 жыл бұрын
Without seeing the camera, baseplate, bolts and nuts, etc. that you are running I cannot say for sure but I think it should work. I don’t fully extend the support rod when I put it together. Good luck!
