Crazy you can go to Texas, Georgia, Alabama, Florida… they all run 5in hoses. Here in Louisiana we like the 4in too. Much cleaner to pump with, and you can hang two hoses if need be.

I’m curious why they choose to do it that way? Any logic behind it?

Most I've ever seen do this hit the pot with rubber mallet when they release the air. I think it's strange that these "tests" are done however they like . Nothing better than watching a bunch of know nothing do nothing D.O.T. idiots argue about the difference in test results that two produce. I've seen a shit load of wasted mud due to ill trained minimum wage test morons. Sad part is we rely on these guys to ensure quality yet they can't get the same results twice in a row. Professional spectators is all they are to me. ✌️

That machine is a waste of money. Its embarassing to be associated with it when pouring concrete.

I’ve gotten one of those turn buckles before. Got caught on the secondary grate. Breaks off the dump trucks hauling material to the plant. Loaders scrape it into the pile, load it into the hoppers, goes in the truck, and makes a bad day for a pump operator somewhere. I got half a rat before, cutting wheels from grinders, strikers for torches, plenty of empty bottles, and a piece of the cutting edge from a loaded bucket.

That last one was a real doozie!!! Does your 43M Putz use the same tight-radius 90's between boom sections D-E as does our 47M Putz? Those shorter elbows can be a real PIA in terms of catching debris. Weirdest things I've seen come out of the mixer is a seagull, which has actually happened on several occasions (they ain't the brightest of winged creatures).
@fronabargerconveyingpumping11 күн бұрын
The elbow at D-E is pretty tight on the 43 also. Just amazes me what gets through the grates and pulled in those barrels. A seagull would be an interesting one, to say the least.

I once pumped a full set of car floormats through a 45m. They came through one at a time from the same load. All of them passed the grate and pumped all the way to the slab, only to come out with a big pop at the end. That was the weirdest for sure. I've pumped an adjustable wrench, dead cat, bucket pins, and soda bottles. The mixer drivers never admitted anything ever came from their drum😂.

Nobody appreciates pump trucks more than mixer drivers. Trust me.

So many times I've had mixer drivers say it couldn't have come out their trucks. Lots of cool mixer drivers to though 😊

Lol! Floormats would be interesting! Good thing it came out, that may have been a boom party if not.

We only use betonite when we use prime aids now, Usually we just use water on the boom pumps. I kind of had the same luck as you with slick willy it would dry the mud out. I hate lay flat hoses , I use reducing hoses which are a lot easier to get unplugged than steel reducers most of the time.

When training a guy on the boom, I like to be on the end of the hose (better he toss me around than the customer). Also gives good opportunity for coaching them on the boom movements and positioning as well as gives opportunity to assess how they are progressing. If you swap out the snap-clamp at that B-C knuckle to a two-bolt style (Putz actually makes on which also has the mounting ears cast into it for attaching to the boom bracket), you'll find the gasket lasts much longer. There s far less play/movement with the two-bolt style clamp, which keeps things better aligned and reduces wear 'N tear on the gasket. Great video Darin. Glad to see you posting 👍👍👍

What’s your reason for folding up and then sucking the sponge back?
@derkaderka591018 күн бұрын
Gravity, easier to control the speed the sponge comes back, ensures a good clean every time
@fronabargerconveyingpumping18 күн бұрын
Easier for me. I can put pads in, clean hoses, strap the boom and then I'm pretty well done.
@Dex01-Z_WingZero18 күн бұрын
We suck a sponge back different at Cobijar. We fill the tip with water jam a sponge in, top it up with water. Then we suck back on #3 and raise the boom in the air in the z so it all drians down to the hopper.
@Dex01-Z_WingZero18 күн бұрын
Once i heard you took your tip elbow off and re grease it, I knew i was doing it wrong. Now i wash my tip out every time and regrease every 200 meters or so. Thank you for the advice 👍
