I'm afraid this is quite innaccurate. The definitive books on Bannockburn are written by William Scott. His superbly researched work shows how a large Scottish army won in a battle which took place in the Carse of Balqhuideroch between the Bannockburn and Pelstream Burn where the English camped overnight. The Scots descended onto the Carse in the early hours of the morning from the Dryfield to take the English by surprise and close off the half-mile gap between the burns to avoid being outflanked. After the hasty charge of the surprised English cavalry was absorbed by the approximately 12 ranks of pikemen drawn across the carse, the English archers, behind their own cavalry, were nullified and were ordered to stop trying to fire over their own cavalry as they were hitting their own horsemen. Meanwhile the Scottish archers couldcomfortably fire over their own pikemen into the English. There was no Scottish cavalry involvement at Bannockburn.

Imagine if war was still fought like this today, on foot & horseback with swords and arrows. Let’s pretend technology advanced everywhere except in weaponry. This allowed us to watch these battles streamed live in HD.

It’s a fascinating outcome! Had Harold Not broken through line, the outcome made have been different. The changes were the MOST significant change to British history! Have visited Battlefield & toured. British language, customs, traditions, buildings all changed after William won. York was torched & William built the first Tower of London.

Will you make a video on the English Crécy or Agincourt, such as the battle of Patay (1429) or Castillon (1453)? These were decisive French victories which decimated the English archers and allowed France to triumph in the Hundred Years' War.

Pride is a hell of a thing, it breeds arrogance, especially when you outnumber your foe. The French had a lot of nobility, and Prince's of the realm present at Agincourt, all commanding men, all wanting to prove a point. I imagine that there was an air of thought that the mostly peasant Army of England arrayed against them was beneath them, the English made them pay for it. A story written many times in history since before and after the Romans first learned at Cannae. Agincourt is quite possible to be the greatest English victory over the French, certainly at the time and perhaps still so to this day, for what it entailed. The outcome at Agincourt, and fallout thereafter, essentially won King Henry V of England the French crown. Had Henry V not died young, 2 months before the French King Charles VI, an English King, with his French Queen and their children, would have ruled, for the first time in history, a United Kingdom of England and France under a single unified monarchy.

Good Graphics, despite several historical errors, such as my Ancestor James Douglas' daring advance upon the flanks of the English forces, the freeman's advance from the town in relief of the tiring Scots and white clad Templar survivors who ixed in with the common folk and led a secondary charge against the routed King and his beaten army.

English Longbowmen? A large part of those combatants were Welsh Longbowmen! Surely 'MODERN' terminology, to be fair and more accurate should describe these supremely effective Archers as 'THE BRITISH LOGBOWMEN'! His English is perfect, and I'm English ok. In fact it's better than most English people. The problem lies with your inability to understand anything other than American sitom English, not with the narration. I did my degree in the early 90s in English and if you can't understand this you can't understand English and need more lessons
@user-xd5pr4qd4z

@historybattles3D I urge you to totally ignore his/her comment. I am English and to my 'English' ears your English is perfect. If he can't understand it he needs more English lessons. It's that simple. His deficit isn't your problem, so I'd pay it no mind. I'm also pretty sure any Englishman would agree with this. Then again Americans often need subtitles to understand actual English people speaking, urm, English. If these people are so lazy they can't understand anything but second rate lazy English it is their problem.
