The Romans never used a wedge formation . The soldier at the front would have been killed easily . Right down the wedge the outside soldier would have to fight a person in front and to the side . This is why they used a shield wall.

"Cavalry" and "Calvary" in the English language are pronounced differently. Calvary is not in France.

The French didn’t charge on horseback, they dismounted and came on foot, also the battle field was far narrower than shown here.

You say the field had been plowed, but it is shown as unbroken and w/clumps of grass. All the accounts state that the field had been: "Plowed deep for Winter Wheat". Not only that, but it had rained for days before the battle. The French knight's horses turned that furrowed gooey mess into a quagmire. I doubt that the French knights on foot could move more than a few steps while the lightly-armored bowmen and men-at-arms literally danced rings around them.

It is unlikely that Boudica had more than 20,000 fighters under her command. The 200,000 number more than likely includes all of the camp followers; the women and children and men too old to fight. Why don't you just use Total War for the animations? They look far better and would be easier to get. There are mods for Rome 2 that replicate how a 1st century Roman Legion would have looked like in terms of weapons and armour. There are multiple points in the video where the soldiers just stand in front of each other and don't do anything, or they swing their weapons at nothing. The Total War series of games already have animations you can use and are not as stiff and awkward; you just have to fight someone to play it with you and play the game out like the real battle. See channels like Historical Total War Battles and Bellum et Historia to see what I mean. Other than that, you have a good narrating voice, and you don't drag out the video.

Are you kidding man? 😂 "Hey Hb3d why don't you use Total war.?" You know the same thing 3999 other channels on KZbin are already doing...

The reason of my channel's existence is that I create the whole thing myself in 3D . I really don't believe that my entire project is so pointless as to make it irrelevant due to the existence of video games. Eg, I use 2k and even 4k textures while games such as Total ware barely use 1k textures. I bet they usually use 512x pixels. I have creative freedom that you can't have when using someone else's code and game. The engine I'm using uses PBR and cutting edge global illumination. The close-ups are far more crisp in my opinion. Plus, the reason why there are occasional air-swinging is due to the nature of this battle. I'm constantly moving my army forward while fighting, which to my knowledge is impossible with something like Total War. I also use wedge formations that do not exist in Total War. To my knowledge they only exist for cavalry. The list goes on. And of course, making yet another Total War based channel just adds to the list of hundreds that already exist. Plus, I can easily convert my system now to accommodate early modern battles. I only miss the animations .

Did you see this particularly stupid video? "In August 2019, the KZbin channel 'Tod's Workshop', together with historian Tobias Capwell (curator at the Wallace collection), Joe Gibbs (archer), Will Sherman (fletcher), and Kevin Legg (armourer) ran a practical test using a reproduction of a 15th century plate breastplate over a chainmail and gambeson against a 160 lb (710 N) longbow. Both wrought iron and case hardened arrows were fired at the target from a distance of 25 meters. In contrast to the earlier computer analysis, neither arrow type successfully penetrated the breastplate" Joe Gibb weighs around 170lbs and in that video he didn't even use the standard top end 180lb medieval longbows because he was maxed out at 160lb lol, and the exceptional 200lb bows that would be for people like Richard de Clare, 2nd Earl of Pembroke, aka Richard Strongbow.

English propaganda. A lot of British historians stated some years ago, that the French numbers was not that much more than the English soldiers, but the French had a lot servants and no fighting personel with them cause they where mainly nobles, not professional mercenaries like the English.

Love it! Subscribed. Just be wary of implausible enemy numbers given by later Roman writers. In this case we're supposed to believe a couple of mixed agrarian/pastoral local tribes could muster and feed a force unequalled on the British Isles until the Napoleonic Wars. Analyses of the known population and economic limitations suggest a much reduced figure of 10-20k actual fighters. Of course we just don't know.

Boudicca's much-romanticized rebellion was mostly her army crushing militias, massacring women and children, and occasionally wiping out a monstrously outnumbered group of soldiers. Watling Street was the first time her army had faced a real Roman army, albeit one that was still massively outnumbered.
