Way to go Nick ! This looks like a super logical way to go about this . I have to do a herringbone on a slab and was wondering how to do it . Building the first big piece by glueing it together before down seems like money . Thanks a million ........

I've recently had this type installed and it's cracking and creaking everywhere. It's on top of concrete and with a thin foiled underlay. Is it the underlay that's causing this by any chance ?

Different to how I’ve seen others do it how come you don’t work left to right where are you getting cuts from three boards down at a time ? Great vid also

My herringbone LVT floating flooring is now laid beneath the skirting, (no beading or latex border filler) which I have always preferred - it just looks cleaner finish with the floor going under the skirt and no gap. Although, some people think that this choice can make the job look unfinished.

No expansion spacers (required by manufacturers and recommended by everybody else who ever had anything to do with laminate). Required to avoid buckling of boards once installed when they expand under changed environmental conditions. No suggestion for cutting off the unnecessary tongue on the first board so that you get the correct coverage of the board under your quarter round or scotia. Initial board lengths establish a repetitive and boring pattern which everybody else recommends should be avoided for both technical and aesthetic reasons. FFS, four minutes to convey the nuances of measuring, cutting, laying on a job that requires careful thought!!!!!!!!!!???????????????? No thank you.

looks good sir ...im guessing you used glue bcc your installing in a method not recommended by manufacturer ? i'd recommend not installing shoe molding ... nevertheless, looks a lot better than carpet for sure. did you use a silicon caulk around the perimeter for expansion and contract of the flooring ?
