which one is the least wet? glass or kakimori? my issue is that my current 1$ cheap glass dip pen writes way too wet. and I want something that doesn't write super wet at the beginning.

Lol I can so related to this video. I bought the Masamune Kusano x junaida Through the Purple Night to use as a BTS journal in 2025 because it´s the year of BTS return. Using Murasaki shikibu, Rainbows End, Jane Eyre and Foxglove in it but from your selection the puple rain combines BTS purpel for me the most I will check that out borahae...💜

So I am here maybe 2 years later after being shocked at the prices of the iro utsushi dip pens (and they are still hard to find here in the UK) and I had suspected they were simply the pilot nibs in pen holders. I have been wondering if I could do this trick as I don't have the money to buy anything fancy! I have the Pilot nibs so just need to see if I have any nib holders handy! Thanks so much for this video!!!! ❤

A bit of a latecomer with this query but here it goes: can you use the brass or steel nibs at 90 degrees? E.g. perfectly perpendicular?

Loved watching your haul! I just got back from Osaka/Kyoto and grabbed my first TN there (the same limited edition Kyoto one). We decided to skip Tokyo this time but will have to add it to the list next time. I live in Seattle too and would looove to go to the Reserve 😍

Oh gosh, now I have even more inks I want to try out! 😅😂🙈 Diamine inks were my first fountain pen inks & unfortunately the ones I got then, I never quite felt comfortable with, but since buying Diamine Salamander, my view of Diamine inks has changed (at least for that ink) & if Green Umber is similar in the writing experience, it’s definitely going on my wish list!

As someone new to inks and pens, how can you tell if a particular pen and ink will be a good match? Also I ride a bike everywhere, any suggestions for storage (sleeves?) to keep like 3-5 pens safe and not leak?

Ahhh I was just there and went to some of the places you did! I even got the exact same Passport size notebook lmao. I managed to be at the reserve while it was super empty somehow. It was a great experience and I'm happy I got to relax there. I only sort of regret not getting more Traveler's Company stuff. I'm sorry you couldn't peruse all floors of Itoya, I loved it there. I bought a nice collaborative packable bag from Shupatto that I love folding and unfolding to show people.

I am so glad you enjoyed your trip too, it really is a special experience! I do regret not being able to spend more time in itoya. My friend bought a foldable bag there too and I am so envious of her bag! I wonder if it’s the same bag you mentioned.

I have a Lilas with a broad nib and it's so smooth to write with but so bold with ink I never reach for it. Hoping one day to have it reduced in nibs size so I can use it more. I also have the TAG Cherry Blossom Keage, my ink is very wet and I have neglected it in my pens but seeing it again on paper makes me want to put it in a EF pen to see how much I will love it now... I have been wanting to try the Bungubox Sweet Potato ink so bad everyone raves about it but every time I go to get it it's sold out... Great to see you back on YT missed your videos. You always have a great eye for colors and I always enjoy seeing your videos.

Great colours! Looks like I need a 3776 <M> for my dry inks. Currently using them in Sailor PGS <MF> and it does seem a bit lighter (granted, its a non-saturated Colorverse dry ink) but its so smooth, not scratchy at all.

Could you give the names & brands of pens you are using in more detail… possibly a link to where to purchase? I didn’t catch the black pen marker you used in this video? Can you share exactly which pen/marker you used that didn’t seem to bleed through the paper please . It would help me get started with the tried & true of your experience. Thanks for your videos! Thank you for sharing your journaling process! That’s very insightful to recognize that your journaling needs are different based on how you are feeling and knowingly create compartmentalized journaling spaces for them. I had not thought of it that way, but you described it beautifully and I can see I have been arriving to the same idea organically but did not realize it and was trying to “fix” it to stay in one book. I can see how at times I have gone from beautiful journaling in my Hobonichi or sketchbooks to messy writing/notes in another book. I think it’s useful to see a planning creator talk about this, because my messy notes are jotted haphazardly all over in a Frixion pen in my Bujo while my easeful journaling is with sketches and watercolors and my lovely inks on Hobonichi or TN or sketchbooks. I was feeling a bit frustrated that I usually do not stick to just one beautiful book through a year like many journalers I have seen on YT, even though I realize that’s not the full picture. I will now use some of your 3 step techniques. Thank you again! ❤. Also, I have plenty of those large unused notebooks from my teens also 😂

absolutely love your swatches! they're one of my favourite videos to watch while i'm building swatch references for myself. i've re-watched this one three times already 😅 i really liked what you said about the ink exploration. stretching out both the creative and problem solving muscles, while having child-like carefree fun, are two of the aspects i love most about making art/journaling. seeing how ppl come up with innovative ways to use what's around them is also so refreshing. honestly, that love is what protects me from impulse-buys, because i like leaving that little space for /pardon the litral translation/ 'unshitting´ myself.

i love to go back and doodle/color things i've written down in the past. i haven't found any videos on here showing this until now! i don't always have time to plan out a whole spread or if i do have time, i spend too much time using markers and stickets and not actual planning. so i appreciate the representation here for the retroactive design folks haha. i'm trying to decide between a weeks mega and the A6, so this was helpful to see how you use the A6. thanks so much for sharing :)
