I'm still actively developing it daily, I just don't make dev logs anymore due to it eating into development time too much. You can check out @KonitamaGames on twitter for updates :)

I once made a small game to put on Steam. It took me 18 months and I cut every extra feature all the way down to my base boring game. I can't imagine finishing a game this large. Seems like a gargantuan task. I totally understand why youtube vids would take a back seat.

Was your latest video really a year ago?
@Konitama Жыл бұрын
Yeah, development has been steady throughout the whole year but finding time to record dev logs that are interesting but don't spoil too much has become really difficult for me. I'd love to do more dev logs and I've been considering making a new one, however I don't think I could keep up with any sort of scheduled uploads.

Do you intend to release this game on console?

Is it just me or does this game look like it is using the same assets from stardew valley, like blantantly so.

Man, its so great seeing the progress youve made since the beginning. I am so dang excited to get my hands on this game when its finally ready. Keep up the awesome work. Love the update videos!

Making a game in the same genre ish. I like how we think alike on a lot of the top down combat. This looks really cool. Keep it up 🫡🫡👏

This is awesome! I love hearing about what you've tried and why it may not work for your intended outcome. I should be taking notes! Unity has so many systems that I am sometimes too lazy to explore and end up going the most comfortable (and least efficient) route to achieve what I need in my projects. This is really invaluable info you're sharing, so thank you : )

Nice work! Love the animal journal! - for the receipts, could you have a prompt that says "Press *insert button* to view" and then have it disappear after a few seconds? So you can either view it straight away or leave it?

Hi I am kind of late to this video but I think you should consider changing the origin of the light on the torches to the base of the torch instead of the fire itself, if you where to look at the lighting in 3d space this would make more sense, right now the light is slightly offset from the torch because it is placed at the fire. I hope this makes sense.

Hmmmm since you’re a lil cloud guy, what if when you walk in water you act as a water container? You get all droopy and grey and if the water trough is close enough you can fill it up before you dry off? it would be super inefficient but very cute!! And maybe useful before you have a bucket?

This is probably the most interested I've been in UI design. At this rate, this will be the smoothest game to play that involves inventory management.

Shipping bins need to look & feel more different from a storage container, you definitely don't want a player who isn't paying attention to accidentally treat it like a storage bin

Looking great! I really like the water distortions and for the receipt question, I'd make it so that the very first time a player picks up a receipt it brings them to the journal page receipt UI but then all instances after the first it simply tells them that a new receipt is ready for viewing in their journal.
@korekara2 жыл бұрын
I really like the receipt feature for tracking shipments. soooo many times I've realised I'm missing a rare item and then had to play the "hmm did I accidentally ship it or did I throw it in one of my million chests already and forget?" game. I like the way you have it set up now, where you can check out the shipments at your leisure. I find it really irritating when I'm on a roll and a game stops me in my tracks by popping up a UI menu I'm forced to deal with before proceeding. Especially if you can have multiple shipping bins set up, having it pop up each time after collecting the money/receipt from a bin seems like it would get old fast. I'd be looking for a mod to stop that on PC and crying when playing on my switch version. just my two cents about it lol. love the rest of the devlog too, everything is looking so good! the addition of bait makes me excited. is it just going to be worms or are there plans for different baits that will attract different fish with each one?

The new lighting looks good, but in my opinion it looks a bit out of place being so smooth versus the sharp pixel art. I wonder if you could do something like a “pixel perfect” camera but only for the lighting?

The game is really starting to look finished! I recently finished making an implementation of the A* pathfinding algorithm in my own Rust engine, and it was a real pain
@lordmelord49352 жыл бұрын
I really like the progress so far, do you plan on adding an animal companion feature to the game?

Yeah, the plan is that you can choose any animal you own to follow you around at any time.

4:51 You should consider it the other way around, instead of moving the water from-to the bucket, move the bucket to the water and pick it up. This way, you'd be representing the action of moving the bucket and filling it, while also having less "clicking" in between (which could become tedious in the long run)
@Konitama2 жыл бұрын
That's an interesting idea. I might just have both ways work. Thanks for the input!
