You can use any metal nail file to soften the edges of the metal tape measure.

I came here from @catherinesews. You could also use some old Venetian blinds slats!

You make it look really easy. Lovely tool wrap. I have looked at some on Etsy but the cost is way more than I can afford. So have decided to make my own. I will be using light weight soft leather and probably hand sewing most of it since I do not have a commercial sewing machine. My pattern will be a little different but watching you have given me courage to go ahead and do it. Thank you for sharing and if I decide to go with a little simpler style like yours I will order your pattern.

Saw this on Insta and had to come here to watch. I had just started darning my hand knit socks in hopes of encouraging autumn to head south. This is working perfectly on my heel repair. Thank You!

I want to make myself a Bible cover like this 🥰 Instructions start at 5:00 (Just make sure to use the same number of pins on each side) *ALSO, key note you may as well go over and under each string on the very first row (or you'll just have to do it at the end or it'll unweave)
@jeannettehaislip589013 күн бұрын
lovely! since you are working left to right, how do you move back to start a new row from the left? thank you!
@bookhoudesign13 күн бұрын
I slide my needle underneath the left, you don't have to do that, I just prefer it that way - but you can work from right to left

I made this cute pouch today! Followed exactly (just interfaced my thinner exterior fabric) and so pleased with the results. Thank you for the step by step video. I know tutorials take it alot of time to make and you don’t always see the response. Know it’s appreciated.

This is a cool technique, but I had a little heart attack every time the yarn bunched up when you pulled it through. I’ve caused so many tangles that way.

My grandmother had such cards, they had small holes in a grid and they were embroidered with florals, just like you do with this tin. When we visited (as children) we were allowed to carefully watch these treasures. I don't know if they were from my grandmother's youth (around 1900) or even older. And I don't know where they are now 🙁

Very cute, especially for a little sewing kit!! (And the magnet in the lid is great!). When I was a little kid, I had one of my grandads old tobacco tins with holes punched in the lid. However the holes were not neatly done like yours!!! Also…. The purpose for the holes in my lid was because for a very brief time, I wanted to keep some caterpillars as pets and I knew they would need air holes! Hahaha. Nowadays I like the sewing kit idea more!!! Haha

❤❤❤reminds me of the baskets I used to see in Laos and Northern Vietnam. They came in all shapes and with colorful designs. They sometimes appeared larger than the women who carried burn wood on their backs with them.... I have one that I brought back more than 20 years ago and it is still colorful and kept its shape.😊

Thank you SO much for this wonderful, clear, and effective video. I am AMAZED! This method of darning is so much quicker and more effective than simple weaving. It creates a durable patch in no time at all. I used to hate darning, but now I find it really rewarding to patch up my wool socks with a repair that will last longer than the original knitting. 🙏🏻 🙏🏻 🙏🏻
