What I did to my mit thumbs was knit it long enough to cover, but didn’t close it up. I bound it off loosely. I can push it up over my knuckle if I need to use my thumb, but leave it covered most of the time.🤷‍♀️

I love how German words occasionally slip into your speech. It reminds me of my high school friend's family. I took German in school, so most of the time I didn't even notice when they did it, but most of our friends got a bit confused because they more excited they got, the more their speech turned into "Germlish". I love your handspun and the cute scarf for your daughter!

Hello hello! I was very happy when I saw the title of this episode. I felt it going to be a soothing video, and it was, which I am grateful for. Thank you for sharing your approach towards the stash management - my intentions are similar, not to buy anything before I use like 90% of what I already have! But, being a project manager, I do plan my knits throughout the year - in 2024 it was very helpful in organising my work/hobby of knitting. So, I intend on repeating the yearly roadmap of my knits :) Cannot wait to see your projects, all the best in the New Year, and until the next time!

Hi Becca! So last year my intention was to learn colour work too and I got Anna's book as a Xmas present. So far, I've made some mittens, a hot water bottle, both from Anna's this year's advent calendar. I also turned the Bowfell jumper into a dress. I actually added short rows after splitting for sleeves which I learned to do with the Love Number sweater by Lily Kate France. To be honest, in hindsight I shouldn't have done it as I have a short torso and it's made the back a little too long for a dress. However, for a sweater it works really well. In fact, they go round the front and they look like darts. I also had the intention to learn to knit socks and I made 13 pairs! This year I want to knit and sew through my stash. I want to pattern test a knit and I'd like to get back to X stitch and embroidery 😊

Ah twins! I also received her book as a Christmas present. How funny! Ooh, I’ve been thinking about making the bowfell sweater as it’s just so lovely! Wow, 13 pairs of socks! That’s incredible! And you’ve never done socks before? I’m so impressed! Cheers to working on our stash this year! I hope we can keep each other accountable!

I have just the same queue in my Ravelry - we are really in sync with our views of stash and projects. For your quilting, it's not a quilting foot that you need but a walking foot. A walking foot has feed dogs for the top layer that work with the bottom layer and makes such a difference. I love quilting too - it's such fun to play with colour and shape x

@@MrsKWheatley ah that’s so funny! What’s your ravelry name? I wanna follow along! I do have a walking foot! I’m assuming I can’t do free motion quilting with a walking foot- that it’s more for straight lines?

I have knit about 200 pairs of socks, and I actually LOVE DK weight socks. I live in Washington State, and I can wear them for half the year, at least. They're squishy, warm, and not overly bulky. They're perfect in clogs or boots. And they're quick to knit! On a weekend I can finish a pair in 3 days. 😊

Merry Christmas to you and your family Becca! I love your colour palette, and man am I tempted to cast on the Marieke sweater now! You have made such a beautiful garment. I remember you talking about the Holly sweater in a previous video and how you liked the short row shaping on the neckline and under the arms: did the Marieke incorporate these elements, and if not, if you could go back in time and reknit this sweater, would you incorporate the KFO shortrow shaping? Thank you for your cosy vlogmas videos this year xx

Thank you so much! I love the Marieke and would absolutely reccomend it! I did include short row shaping on the neck, but now under the arms. If doesn’t bother me too much, but if I knit it again, I would add short row shaping under the arms- I just use the instructions for the Holly sweater on all my circle yokes now. If you decide to knit the Marieke, I’d be happy to walk you through adding short rows under the arms! Thank you so much for watching! And for being here! ❤️

I have one for the top of my tree and some for garland sprays inside over windows. I’m excited to add some of these you’ve shared to my tree as well. Thank you SO much for sharing and inspiring. Oh, and I agree on the Red Robin colorway, it’s perfection! My tree is tones of white and green but as soft as that red is if I used it just right would be a beautiful addition. What a nice idea. There are so many people doing daily videos it can be a little overwhelming 😅 I've really enjoyed yours and those jumpers are really nice 😊 Edited to add: Instead of making a knot with the mohair, I use the loop to retain the thread. If you pull the thread through the loop it won't come out. This way it avoids adding the extra bulk of the knot. I hope this makes sense.
