Happy to have discovered your channel! I am an avid sock knitter and reader and beginning spinner so I have either read or listened to most of the books you shared and own many of them. I would recommend Womens Work the first 20,000 years by Elizabeth Barber as another good history read.

I really enjoyed your podcast. At first, I decided to just skip through the sock section because, although I do knit socks, that’s not where my knitting joy is. However, I listened to the whole thing because I found your reviews so thoughtful and insightful that, not only did I listen to it all the way through, I even put a few on my list of must haves. I have heard of Unraveling, but haven’t gotten to it yet. I just moved it up on the To Read list. (I don’t need that book to turn me radical about that topic. Already there!😉). I do know another book on that topic, but can’t remember the title. You have me curious and I will look for it. If I find it, ai’ll let you know. Found you quite charming and intelligent. Of course, I subscribed.

Thanks I enjoyed your book reviews. I have recently bought two knitting books. One is “The Sock Knitting Bible “ by Lynne Rowe, which similar to one on your list includes all different heals, cuffs and toes. Also knitting with all types of needles, circular, dpn’s and two needles and two at a time. Cuff down and toe up, plain, lace and colour work patterns. The second one which I find very inspiring is “The Doodle Knit Directory “ by Jamie Lomax which I pre-ordered it is new out. It has lots of colour work patterns and motifs which you can mix and match using the basic patterns provided or on any garment or accessories of your choice. Thanks once again for your recommendations and reviews.

Hi, just found your channel - thank you for the recommendations. I have a few in return. Women's Work: The First 20,000 Years Women, Cloth, and Society in Early Times - this is an academic book but I found it absolutely fascinating and as you mentioned it highlights women in history instead of just focusing on men. A Stash of one's own - Clara Parkes. An easy read, very enjoyable The Fleece and Fibre Source Book - a must have for Spinners and knitters alike (in my humble opinion) Inspired to Spin - a new acquisition for me - not sure if it's available in USA (i'm from the UK) I also have yarn-i-tec-ture which I agree is also a bit of a must have. I do have quite a few of the ones you highlighted but will check out those new to me 🙂

'Scandinavian Sweaters' is one of my go-to books both for straightforward patterns and inspiration. I made the 'Bandit' cardigan as a sweater and have been stopped in the street by people asking me where I got that fabulous sweater! Other books I love are 'Wilderness Knits' by Linka Neumann, 'Icelandic Knits' which is a co-operative of designers including Anna-Karolina Tetri who created the stunning Yellow Hillock pattern. Wow!! 'Knittting Reimagined' by Norah Epstein. 'Texture' by Erika Knight. 'Ultimate Sweater Book' by Amy Herzog. Absolutely ANYTHING by Marie Wallin. 'Contemporary Irish Knits' by Carol Feller - the cover pic cardigan is another one that stops traffic! And in case you thought knitting was just for ladies.... 'Viking Knits' by a true Viking, Lasse Matberg.
