Thank you so, so much! I will be trying this out on a beautiful blue Delft lamp, very similar to yours, I just bought on EBay😊👍

I always feel that beautiful wood is a reminder of the great outdoors/nature in your home. Paint is only for the ugliest processed wood.

Wood glue is stronger than the wood itself. The Screws will snap if there is jumping on the bed I have seen you reply to other comments about a survey it's not worth the risk for the sake of avoiding having to cut up bedframe in the future. This is an awesome idea but research how pocket screws can snap stay safe
@ChrisAnnasMomАй бұрын
People. DON'T FOLLOW THIS VIDEO TO MAKE A BED. IT IS DANGEROUS! I really hope she has changed how she attached the side rails. Please give an update.
@AtCharlottesHouseАй бұрын
FWIW: "According to a study conducted by the RADCO testing division, a common 90-degree pocket hole joint using a 2x4 rail that is attached to a 4x4 post could hold 1361 Ibs before failing. However, using the same setup, if you apply pressure from the bottom of 2x4, the same side as the holes, this 2x4 holds only 410 Ibs."
@ChrisAnnasMomАй бұрын
The pocket hole method isn't strong enough for attaching the side rails. All of the weight from the person, mattress, etc. will be resting on two screws at each corner. Attaching the rails flush onto the legs with lag bolts or larger screws would be much safer for your son.

I’m totally doing this but I think I need to paint the roof, too. It looks rough. If you had to paint your roof, what color would you use? The same as mix? Maybe a brown to match the door trim you left unpainted?
@AtCharlottesHouseАй бұрын
Hmmm.... I might go with one color slightly different... so a true black or a slightly lighter gray?

Paint is also a preservative when applied to wood and would increase the lifespan of the bottom of your frame if painted.
