@TH3DStudio2 күн бұрын
We literally have no other cheaper shipping options available to us. If we did they would be on the site. We don't make profits off shipping charges. What you see is within 3% +/- of what we're paying the shipping companies to ship to our customers. Thats not including packing materials like boxes and bubble wrap (which is around $2.50 for a panel as they need larger boxes).

Wait why is the firmware "$7-$20" now? I bought the EZABL a few years ago and I wanted to redownload so I can change how many probing points it does before printing, but I'm not seeing a free download area... If TH3D switched to selling their modified version of otherwise open source Marlin that's really shitty.
@TH3DStudio2 күн бұрын
You can thank the economy for having to charge for it. It was we either charge for it to cover the time and money we spend working on it or we don't do it at all. It's shitty that you won't compensate us for our time. We cannot keep working for free with the firmware. If you're too cheap to pay us for our time then do it yourself.
@ZanyT5672 күн бұрын
@TH3DStudio no need for the hostility towards one of your paying customers, again I purchased the EZABL a few years back. And I have been happy with it ever since. Is there a pathway for an old customer to get a few years old version of the firmware for free? Otherwise, intentional or not, and I do understand it's not intentional here, it's akin to planned obsolescence if the customer had deleted the firmware they had years ago when they purchased the EZABL. I assume that any new EZABL customers would receive the firmware for free with purchase of the EZABL?
@TH3DStudio2 күн бұрын
You're the one who said we're being "shitty" in your comment. If you don't like being treated like that don't do it to others like you did here. We did the firmware for free in the past because we were making enough profits selling other parts to cover the costs to do it for free for everyone. Times have changed thanks to our horrible administration. Since 2021 (since Biden got in) we've been losing sales every single year and only have 3 employees instead of 13. There is nothing stopping you from doing your own marlin build from the free code available on marlinfw.org. You're not forever entitled to our new code and work just because you bought something YEARS ago. The money we made off your sale is long gone and used up. New EZABL purchases get the 3 month $7 package included when they purchase a kit. You expecting us to keep giving you our time and money for free is unrealistic. We literally have to pay for hardware to test, electricity, and most expensive is paying employees to work on the code to keep it updated and add new features. If you deleted your firmware files that's on you to keep backups of your files. The "pathway" to the new firmware is to pay for it. If you don't want to pay us for our time and costs then don't buy it. You can also buy one of our EZBoard V2s and the firmware for those are free for the life of the product until we decide to stop doing updates for it.
@ZanyT5672 күн бұрын
@@TH3DStudio did you seriously just give me another hostile and now also politically charged response and then delete it so no one else could see it? That is so extremely unprofessional. So very sorry for feeling that's it's shitty for something that used to be free to now cost money. This is just yet another example of how the world is going these days and yes, all of these examples are shitty. I never said your company is shitty. Even if I did, professionalism is meeting criticism with tact, not lashing out. Calling someone "cheap" for wanting free software is so precisely against the nature of open source software that it's ridiculous. Considering your firmware is an edit of open source Marlin I could just as easily throw your own logic against you and say that it was cheap and lazy to start there instead of building from the ground up. I like your products and I genuinely wish your company the best during these economic hardships that are affecting everyone, and, man, with how childish, unprofessional (and honestly unwise in regards to how you're alienating a customer who could very well buy more products in the future) this interaction has been, good luck. I'm sorry for all the stress you're likely going through right now from the company side of things, and potentially personally as well. Genuinely I wish you the best going forward, hopefully things will turn out for the better soon. No one deserves to be in a situation where considering the cost of electricity in testing a software is worth mentioning.

@@TH3DStudio I guess it was KZbin that made me think you immediately deleted it. I apologize for that. Still an unprofessional reply. They have used a minimal material design on the hot end for cost cutting purposes. How much they'd think they would save on 2 grams of Aluminium is anyone's guess. I am not at all happy with heat transfer efficiency of the present 3D printers either. Unless the threads are of very high tolerance, the contact between the nozzle and the heating block is at best a compromise, so in this case it is essential for the nozzle to bottom out on the heat block to ensure a good heat transfer. In any case these stuff are all budget Chinese made machinery and as such they are just adequate. Great video and idea B.T.W. I am sick of paying over the odds for those silly nozzles.

I have a spare mono LCD from my OG ender 3, but it's the S1 plus I have. The connector to the screen is totally different. What is the fix there, because I love these simple displays too - I assuming I need a ribbon cable, and need to use a different port on the board itself?

It’s not the screen. It’s the ribbon cable. Mine flickered too. Sovol sent me a new ribbon cable. And it still flickered. I then undid the clips that snug the cable up to the frame. The flickering stopped. What seems to be the problem is that the cable has no shielding from electrical interference. When it’s snug to the frame it’s very unstable. But I repeat. It’s not the screen. It’s the unshielded ribbon cable.

I bought 4 (got 8) of these new type feet, but they do not fit tightly ... If you lift the Bambu; the feet all fall out... Also you need to check to make sure the feet are not bent at an angle, which happens ever so easy, because they are very soft, BUT that should cancel out any shaking of the place it sits on. You need to lift the Bambu up from the front a little, so the feet don't fall out and then carefully put it back; now they are straight... same for back...

Is there a way to get a better more accurate bed leveling instead of only 9 points? I had coptertech firmware which had 100 points mesh bed leveling which never failed me but now with 9 points I have had prints not stick in certain spots on the bed. I can't even get g29 to run when printing so I have to manualy go to bed level settings in order to level the bed. coptertech would save the mesh automatically and would load the mesh on every print.
