Every 7 wks for me. Tried holding out an extra week but the new growth was too much to control. Love doing my own locks because I do not like my hair being pulled or tugged. And I don’t like the feeling of tightness.
@TunisiaAli5 күн бұрын
I totally agree. The major advantage you have is that you do your own. You get the control the number of rotations and the tightness. This is wonderful and is the beginning of a long healthy relationship with your hair because you have taken control. How long have you had your locks? BTW, thanks for sharing.

I stopped coloring my hair a couple years ago and noticed a lot less shedding at the ends. The red looks great on you! 💮

I don't have color nor do I keep my ends open and some of my ends look like this... I've had my sister locs for 3 1/2 years now.
@TunisiaAli5 күн бұрын
Hmmm.....is it your hair coil pattern? Did you have a lot of slippage or unraveling early on? Did your loctician start your locs all the way down to the bottom or did she leave loose ends?
@baburden082 күн бұрын
I had a lot of slippage in the beginning.

I wished for open ends when i first got my locks installed and put conditioner on them to keep them open ( I know 😂) but 5 years on they have mostly stayed open and i love them. I dye too but only ever black and just on the roots to cover grey. No issues so far buti heed the warning. Thank you sis x

I love your story Veronica!! That's great! I wonder if the black is less harsh on your hair since it requires no lifting. That's great though. Thank you for sharing.

I wish I could have my locs look just like yours as far as the size but it’s too expensive and every time I’ve tried to do them myself they’re not completely even 😢

Ahwwww....don't give up. I appreciate your compliment. Have you ever considered getting a passionate trainee to do it? You may just need help with the parting. Sometimes a beauty school student or an aspiring cosmetologist form the local high school may be able to help.

The curls are nice when the locs are shorter. Frames the face and shoulders. Cute. But past sholders, doesn't make sense to keep the ends open, Imho.

It may not make sense, but I have loved it and it has been worth it. What is it they say, a hard head makes a soft behind!! LOL!! 🤣

You have a great point though. As they get longer who really sees them anyway. They become less visible. Imagine that!!! Where have you been? LOL

I locked my hair a while back I combed it out because i wasn’t putting the time in i needed and my roots married each other 🤦🏾♀️ so i took them down. About a month ago i put in a fresh set and now have time to put in for my hair to interloc it so i am enjoying myself now. I have never used weave, but i have used relaxers and color rinses in my hair.

I’ve had my sister locs for just over a yr and a half. My stylist would like me to come every 6 weeks. This is the first time I have been 9 weeks. My hair has always been fine and I have some tinder spots. Since, I’m past 6 weeks my stylist is charging me an extra 10 an hr. It usually, takes her 2hrs or 2.5. I know it’s probably going to take her longer so I was prepared for that. She never stated if I don’t come in every 6 weeks she would do an up charge per hr.
