Sam seems to be pretty suspicious. Maybe he thinks you spilled something, and he’s trying to decide if he should eat it. We know that there’s not much point to eating it, if for no other reason than you can’t eat it fast enough to do any good, but it never occurs to Yorkies to ask. Huckleberry saw his first snow last week, 3 inches of it. He didn’t trust it at first, it was cold and all the smells were missing, but eventually he worked out that it was ok besides having to walk funny. Took him a couple of hours, broken by numerous dashes back inside to ward off hypothermia, to re-examine every square inch of the yard by nose. Happy Thanksgiving to you, Mary, Sam and Ted (in spirit).

150 years ago, the Yorkshire breed was developed to be ratters in textile mills, so the behavior is innate. But the little buggers were so cute that the ladies working in the mills started taking them home at night, which explains why sleeping on the bed with their humans has become another innate trait. No Yorkie has to be trained to snuggle under the covers. Once there, getting them back on the floor risks being mistaken for a rat.

"This will not go in", Thats What She Said! You're right the latch can't be loided when the strike plate is installed properly. In a ideal world people would install them correctly. That attack though is the first I try before getting out other lock manipulation tools. It drives me crazy though that almost 70% to 75% of residential entryway locks are installed wrong. I've been on call where the customer had a commercial knob entry lock (an expensive one) yet a shrum tool defeated it. I always ask though if the customer wants the latch to function properly. Most of them want it fixed right after seeing how easily someone can gain entry. My Grandfather was a professional carpenter and every lock I've seen that he installed the dead latch operates.
@JimsEquipmentShedАй бұрын
Yea, improper installations is a huge issue. Or just buildings shifting over time. Although you don't see much of that in a commercial setting.
