Dang why did you have to dismount the rear of the printer ? I'm sorry I don't know this ET8550, I use XP 15k which is also dye ink A3+ but with cartridges, just that I don't have to do so to use the rear feed...🤔 I'm on the verge to add an ET 2870 hope won'tbe necessary for A4

Oh, this was fun! Wonderful sketch book, and you can't beat the price. I didn't know Amazon did printer ink; I'll have to look into that. And I can't wait to see how the mushroom house turns out. Feel better soon!

Another lovely video. Best to stick to original inks. I bought some cheap ink and it destroyed my printer. What a great sketchbook. I know of one artist who uses a sketchbook like that to keep a watercolour journal of her travels. Better than a diary. And the mushroom house is so intriguing. Thanks for posting.

Thanks for the update. I ended up getting the epson p700 not the 8550, so I soooo envious of your refil costs! When I had a canon printer, I often used ^compatible^ inks due to cost, but looking back those prints have not aged as well as original ink. I dont think you'd notice for non-art but for exact colour reproduction, the original inks have lasted better. Mike

Oh nice, the P700. My P600 was a great printer, till it wasn’t. I must admit, the refil costs of the 8550 are nice, and the ink lasts really well too and that is a refreshing change. :-)

Oh the joy of opening parcels.. my other half is like a kid and haps to open everything (unless I ask him not to) but doesn't matter what it is I let him do it. On the plus side I don't get paper cuts lol. Those sketchbooks look really nice and a bargain and I can I can totally get why you love them and now you've teased us with making a lovely pot and lid you will have to show it to us finished and are you going to paint or decorate it? You've start it now and also would love to see you paint with the gauche (pronounced gwash I thinks).

I do love opening them, I genuinely do forget what I've ordered as I usually order whilst not being fully present at the time. I thought the sketchbook was such a bargain, it really is great quality, I can't wait to try it out. The pot and lid are drying nicely. I absolutely will be painting it, it's random I know but that's me all over really :-). Thanks for watching and always commenting, it does mean a lot :-)

Nice new setup! And I'm jealous of the guillotine; I don't really have a use for one anymore, but I used to have one back in the stone age, when I was young. It was a big, heavy device, from some old school that had closed down. I even cut corrugated cardboard with it (thinking about it now, I guess I didn't treat it very well).

Thanks to your last video, We decided (the royal we) that we were going to move my Printers from downstairs into the bedroom, which then also meant removing the bed and us sleeping downstairs on a double sofa bed.. So now our bedroom is now our office, with 11 3D printers on my side and my wife's side has all the rest of the business.

I don’t know why you are so fussed. You need 100,000 views to make £100. Or 10000 for £10… you are down at the 50p mark with your most watched videos. Why get hung up about it? Just remember why you started doing it. For fun and company. Don’t chase the numbers. You have a lovely character. You don’t need the monetary side. If you do want the money… start another channel about something else lol.

I'm not overly fussed about it but at the same time, the competitive side of me would like to know how I'd be doing if I'd never made those videos...probably still sitting at 12 subscribers haha! When I think about it, I'd don't regret making them, they have helped quite a few people it seems and I'm glad about that :-) Thanks for leaving a comment. :-)

Thanks for doing all this work. Your big mistake from the beginning is thinking GSM was the measurement of paper thickness. It isn’t. It is weight. Hope you will try again 😊 ‘Mic’ is the unit you should be looking at. ‘Mic’ is an abbreviation for ‘Microns’ which is a unit of measure used for gauging paper thickness. One micron = 1000th of a millimetre, therefore 250mic = 0.25mm and 1000mic = 1mm. This is where things can get slightly confusing. GSM and Microns are not necessarily directly proportionate to each other. For example, one brand of 100gsm paper can be thicker (in Microns) than another paper of the same weight (in GSM) due to the type of wood pulp it’s made from, or which ‘bulking’ methods are used in its construction. Other manufacturing processes such as ‘calendaring’ involve paper being passed between high pressure rollers to compress the fibres, resulting in paper that is thinner and denser without affecting its weight per 1m².
@jagosart16 күн бұрын
Oh, now that makes more sense. Thank you for explaining it :-) I bet they don't put the Mic details in their descriptions but I will definitely look out for it. Thanks again :-)

Of someone sold a modified roller they would make a fortune. Given the offending part is easily removed from the rear of the machine, someone could modify it. I'd buy one!

The paintings are amazing, at first glance dark blobs that then take shape and form. It’s almost therapeutic as I continued to look into them, (almost going into them) caves, boats, sea, jagged rock forms, even figures begin to appear in some of them. Love it, keep going with this.... x

We really do need to get our offices sorted out, i'm now in the living room with 9 3D printers and a laser cutter, my wife is in half the bedroom upstairs with all her work... We're looking at buying a garden office to move her out there so we get our bedroom back again... Although i like the idea of the Shelf wall to separate the two areas...

9 3D printers....wow!!!!! A garden office sounds like the perfect idea. The shelf wall has made such a difference and not only that but I'm now more organised then I've ever been, everything is within reach, which I hadn't thought off much but I'm loving it. I hope you manage to get your office :-)

It is a brilliant printer, I honestly have no complaints with regards my use for it with my art prints, which fortunately I don’t get any roller marks on. It seems not everyone has had the roller marks issue so hopefully, if you print on thicker paper/card, you’ll be one of the lucky ones. :-)

Missed this video until today but thanks for the day at the market sorry it didn't go well. Marketing yourself can be so time consuming and it's not fun. Where do you sell? I know you have a website and you do the markets but where else? Just in case you didn't know there is Tik Tok,Ebay,Etsy,Amazon Handmade,Instagram and Facebook. I would definitely check those out and have you considered classes? I think you would be great at it if it's something you could consider.

That was a very enjoyable and insightful video. Thanks for it. Don't get discouraged. Your art is just wonderful, but not only is success all about location-location-location, but "location" changes in value and usefulness as time goes by, and outside circumstances impose on your plans. Maybe things will change come the Holidays...or maybe you'll need to (read that: be FREE to) move on to something else, next year. You'll find the right formula. Keep the faith!

I really need an answer, is the cardstock specifically for inkjet? I've just bought the printer but just realised my special paper is for laser only. Will it work or not?
@jagosartАй бұрын
Hello. Like I always say, I'm not a printer expert so all I can give you is my opinion. I would only use paper intended for Inkjet printers in my machine. I would assume laser paper is solely for use in laser printers. It's probably worth doing an internet search on it or look up Keith Cooper on You Tube and put your question to him. I hope that helps :-)

I'm very new to sublimation and so far everything I've tried (placemats, fridge magnet and mouse mats) is so faded you can hardly see the print. I've changed temp & times. Can you possibly advise? I'm using the SC-F100 printer came with ink and the 8 in 1 clamshell press.
@jagosartАй бұрын
On mine i have a knob that I have to turn to adjust the pressure, that's the first thing I'd try but also, butcher paper made quite a difference. I have a brown heatproof sheet that I place down first, then the coaster for example, with the sub paper on the top, not bottom...then a sheet of butcher paper followed by another heatproof sheet on the top again. When I make my next video I'll try and remember to demonstrate it for you if that would help :-)

I recently purchased the ET8500 printer and I can print on 250gsm pre scored cardstock, the card I'm using is slightly textured. I have put in two sheets using the top feed. Yay NO ROLLER MARKS! I did actually change the thickness on the printer to thick media. I'm not sure if I changed the printer setting on my laptop to match. I tried the rear feed but couldn't get on with it. So stuck to the top back feed. One happy bunny. x just a quick tip when scoring the card use a folded piece of copy paper over the top when you crease it. No marks on it. Love your video it was very informative, you helped me to choose this printer before I purchased it a few months back. x

Hi there Jagos Art i have been watching your videos for quite a while before I purchased an 8550, however I dont use the printer for my greeting cards (I printed 22000 last year), I use a pair of Canon G5050 printers which are run by 3 colour plus a black 70 mil resevoirs and are very cheap to run, although this would mean that youd need yet another printer I honestly couldnt praise them enough for speed, quality and all round usability, As for my backgrund I service around 550 artists and have been doing so for around 20 years, mainly printing greeting cards, Ltd Edition Prints, Placemats etc, I gleen this work by visiting Art Groups and Galleries, hope this helps, Ken

So your Canon handles card without these issues plagued by the Epson? I’d love to buy this Epson but the issues with card making keep putting me off. I had assumed the Canon wouldn’t be as high quality / dpi etc due to it being a cheaper printer.

Oops that isn’t correct. The pigment ink is used for Mat blacks and advanced black and white printing. It is 100% for photographs. Dye is the cheaper ink.
