I love this podcast because one I'm a cinephile and two I'm an independent filmmaker and you all are right When starting out keep doing it Don't worry about getting the top tier cameras as long as you have a good story and people can hear and see your movie they'll watch. Piece of advice that I received was make shorts So that way you will gain experience with every project that you do. I'm on my Robert Townsend grind And I'm enjoying this stage of it A lot of creativity comes out of this stage.

It sounds good, but I don't think y'all would give an honest review about a blackbuster if someone who was in the movie, directed, or wrote it came onto the podcast. Overall thoughts: of course this is a certified 5 ✊🏿✊🏿✊🏿✊🏿✊🏿 and I see y'all listening to what we like to see with this episode being over an hour long, y'all are in the studio, reveiwing it from beginning to end instead skipping around.

I was put on game with Vin Diesel’s “Multi Facial” back in 1999 at Kunsan Air Base in South Korea by a coworker. I purchased it on DVD at the BX. I watch it every once a while when I get it fired to Wright, but I need inspiration to write. I should say I just popped that on the Hollywood shuffle my go to film is El mariachi I know not a blockbuster but it’s just one of those movies, but she just watch.

I think for us content creators, we need to watch the making of Hollywood shuffle and the making of The 5 Heartbeats. Those might be the blue prints, that can be in use.

Credit the movie Action Jackson for breaking out of type cast roles for black lead actors Carl Weathers R.I.P 🌹 played a Character like Arnold. Stallone, an action character that was just a bad ass cop with almost super hero type abilities that took down the villains

I loved this movie & i rented the dvd from Netflix before it became a streaming service. Robert Townsend is criminally underrated Here are some fun facts: Robert Townsend auditioned for the role of Harpo in The Color Purple & after not getting the role he began working on Hollywood Shuffle. He said he wasn’t going to let whites tell black stories & him & Starlita Dupois were also mother & son in Odd Jobs. The hating dude at the audition was Roy Fegan (Bird from The Five Heartbeats). Rusty Cundieff was also in School Daze & he directed Sprung. Speaking of special guests you are guys awaiting for a special guest to do South Central?

Hot take: I think Smokey knew big worm was on his ass so he went to craig house to steal the money because he thought craig was at work (hence him asking why he aint at work) but thats why big worm pulled up to craig house so fast in the beginning he was already following smokey. Smokey knew he could use craig as his alibi but all around smokey was a high key terrible friend to craig.
