Sister Act 2: Back in the Habit is a 1993 American musical comedy film, directed by Bill Duke, and released by Touchstone Pictures. It is the sequel to the 1992 film Sister Act, and is loosely based on the life of Crenshaw High School choir instructor Iris Stevenson. The story sees Whoopi Goldberg reprising her role as Deloris van Cartier, as she finds herself coming to the aid of her nun friends who need her help to save her old school. Maggie Smith, Kathy Najimy, Wendy Makkena, and Mary Wickes also reprised their roles in the sequel.
In this sequel, Las Vegas performer Deloris Van Cartier (Whoopi Goldberg) is surprised by a visit from her nun friends, including Sister Mary Patrick (Kathy Najimy) and Sister Mary Lazarus (Mary Wickes). It appears Deloris is needed in her nun guise as Sister Mary Clarence to help teach music to teens at a troubled school in hopes of keeping the facility from closing at the hands of Mr. Crisp (James Coburn), a callous administrator. Can Deloris shape the rowdy kids into a real choir?

When this movie was filmed from May 24, 1993 to August 20, 1993, Monica Calhoun was 21 years old going on 22, Lauryn Hill was 17 years old going on 18, Alanna Ubach was 17 years old going on 18, Ryan Toby was 16 years old and Jennifer "Love" Hewitt was 14 years old.

What was also revolutionary about the gospel music in this movie especially that last song, was that it coincided with a slow growing movement that was happening in the black church with youth. Gospel artists started experimenting with 90s R&B and hip hop. Kirk Franklin was just coming on to the scene when this came out. I think the success of Joyful Joyful help make his lane easier when he started hitting the streets with the “stomp” type sound.

The way Sheryl Lee Ralph played the character of Lauryn Hill's mother was from Sheryl Lee Ralph's experience with her own mother in reality. When Sheryl Lee Raplh told her mother she was going to be an actress, her mother didn't think it was going to put food on the table, pay the bills, be a guarantee to a future, so her mother disapproves of it. When the mother does see and witness the daughter's talent she pours her heart out and realizes she has a gift after all

Didn't feel good to hear them disrespect Bad Boys 3. I feel that it's a SOLID franchise. Hope to see them give Bad Boys 4 a real chance. They may just be surprised at the growth of the directing, storyline and of the characters themselves.

The LVP can’t be Mr Crisp because he’s the reason everything is happening. He wants to close the school. He’s the reason Mary Clarence came back. Yeah he was a poor villain but he’s the reason for the movie. The LVP should be Frankie or Sketch, neither served a purpose in movie the story forward
