Was Dexter telling you that there was someone at the door? Absolutely great and easy to follow tutorial, what I don’t know is how to correct that “ghosting” such as you got around 007’s right hand in Helicon Focus. Be well.

Really clear explanation there! In comparison to my E-M1ii it only allows me to take 15 shots, so I was quite surprised to hear you doing 50+. Anyway, for me (who hardly ever does macro!) it seems I can get away with fewer shots most of the time, letting the camera work its magic and compile them all for me. Mind-blowing what we can do these days!

Very enjoyable video Nicholas, I really appreciate what you're doing (and sharing with us), I know that the long walks are not easy for you (especially on uneven and muddy terrains), its great to see Bethan accompanying you. Be well.

the d700 was my first camera i got in 2009 as a graduation gift along with a crappy 3.5 120mm vr sweeper lens lol. that was my set up all the way to 2017 till i got the d850. the d700 always performed well when i used it. everyone loved the d850. me personally. i couldnt wait for a true successor. wile it produced outstanding results i always had to watch and make sure it focused correctly usually it did. but in some lighting conditions it wouldn't focus so id have to manually focus it. i was never a big fan of the d850. i sold that d700 to afford the d850. now i have the z8 which solved all the issues i had with the d850. but i will missed that old d700. it did its job and i didnt really have to worry about anything going wrong when using it. i wont miss that sweeper lens though. and yes i got better lenses over time like to 24 to 70 for example.

Thank Nick for your explanation. I'll see if I can find some time this weekend and do a few test shots. I enjoyed that little bimble Nick.... nice to see parts of your woodland that you haven't taken us to before - it seems bigger than I have imagined previously. You must be something of a mind reader because I was going to ask you about the focus rail situation - as you know I have bought a manual focus loawa but thus far it is not something that is grabbing me and I feel I need someone/something to inspire me to get back out and try again. I look forward to your tutorial. The detail on that phone shot was ridiculous I must say... who needs a macro eh? Bethan would not have liked my siuation with horse yesterday, as I was walking off the hill I came upon a small group on the path running free...lol. A cracking set of images in the outro and the tune was totally inappropriate for the images (as ever) but none the less enjoyable - but I can't think who it was? As for the Decemeber one a day... my advice would be don't push yourself too hard but do what you can - I am sure all those hat follow your channel will pop in if its one a day or 4 a week whatever. I am hoping that Booth releases a proper book rather than an ebook. atb Al

Shwmae ;) Great video. I'm also still using a D700, as my *main* camera in 2024. Bonus - I can grab some lovely old Nikon AI glass off auction sites for not much money too. Lenses that were out of my price reach back in the day are now there for the grabbing. e.g. I got a 105mm Micro Nikkor (f4) for £48 a couple months back, well used but mechanically fine and glass A1. D700 is not a casual 'carry about' that's for sure, but it does the job beautifully when given the task. I have a Google Pixel in my pocket at all times as a carry about these days and the quality I can get from that is frankly so good that I only need that and the D700. Happy days :)
