I have a question,is taking creatine bad when trying to lose fat? I want to lose body fat and get in good shape in 2 months for a trip but Somone said it will make me look more fuller and bigger than leaner and more in shape and basically I would want to see my abs but they said you won’t see them as good if you were taking creatine vs without it🤷🏾♂️what do you think
@strategicsage769411 сағат бұрын
It actually would make your abs more likely to be visible, because the muscles themselves will be slightly bigger. There's no impact on losing fat, which is where the lean look comes from and the main thing you need for visible abs. It will mean you don't lose as much weight, but that's a different issue.
@AdamMc1923 сағат бұрын
As per the other comment, you should probably consider it. The challenge that you probably have is you've only given yourself 8 weeks which perhaps might not be long enough.

@@AdamMc192 my “body fat” scale estimates my body fat (supposedly) through some electrical signal and uses my height and weight to calculate my body fat. But Lolol it says 25% and I have four visible abs! I have no idea how to estimate my body fat more reliably. I have pinchable fat around my hips but also abs and shoulder stations when I flex. It’s hard to tell from photos cause everyone stores their fat differently. Or at least women do.

It's a struggle. Currently studying a master's, lost 13kg in the last ten months (83 to 70) and got to 22% body fat from 28% after having hypothyroidism. I find that it's very important to plan meals and exercise, and if some project requires me to not work out that day, I rearrange the week so I get what I need. Hoping to get to 18-20% body fat in the next months so I can finally start focusing on increasing muscle. Boiled eggs are a life saver, I can just make a bunch in 10min for any unplanned visit to the campus (it's quite far away) and their macros are great. Try to always work on your pending stuff ASAP and not leave it for the last day, and plan it accordingly with your work outs, steps, meals, etc.

Hi Adam, i'm an intermediate lifter and im cutting. Is it good to cut until 9 or 8% body fat? or is better to stop at 10%? after im done cutting i want to do a lean bulk. But im williing to go to 8 or 9 if this give me more freeway. What's your experience?
@AdamMc19223 сағат бұрын
Marginal differences to be honest, yes it will give you a little bit longer to gain weight as you're starting from a leaner state, but I wouldn't be worried about it. 8-9% is also pretty lean and you might not feel very good.

I was tempted to get it, I find it really really difficult to lose weight. I’m 51 yr female. I lift weights track macros need to lose about 3stone. Or just anything at this stage, if I’m not 100% perfect 95% of the time I can’t seem to shift fat. It’s got a bit annoying. I considered Zoe, but I’m thinking it will just be another gadget and really I should just keep eating loads of veggies and lean protein etc. personally I think nutrition seems to be the shakiest science we have god know why I guess it’s just hard to study humans unless you lock them away in a lab. I’m sort of at the stage where I think the only number that matters is the kg on my dumbbells because that feels positive

Don’t beat yourself up for gaining, honestly for a little over a week this is almost too much progress, keep in mind losing any more than one pound per week most likely means your eating an unhealthily small amount of calories, other than that, keep up the great work I’m sure you know what’s best for your body at the end of the day

The issue with only trying completely tested stuff is there is a LOT of stuff left to be tested and not enough studies to test them. Add to that unknown interactions and there we are, mostly clueless. Put it another way, the perfect diet or supplementation stack exists but the only way to get there is through trying unknown or unproven substances. Of course that means it's highly unlikely anyone will get it perfectly right and regardless of who does, scientific or otherwise will be extremely likely to fail. That doesn't mean you can't improve your chances and that is probably the best we can get to at the moment.
@AdamMc192Күн бұрын
@@Consciousness-oo1it you are assuming that there are only neutral to positive outcomes from doing that. There can be negative consequences or at best, wasted time, money and effort. But you are right , companies would rather be first or move fast to maximise profits
@Consciousness-oo1itКүн бұрын
@@AdamMc192 Thanks for the reply. There's really two sides to this. Going with tested knowledge is already shaky, given the knowledge is not personalised and even seasoned experts can and do get it wrong. That is however the best bet when it comes to minimising risks which I don't disagree with. With that said, there is a systematic flaw with these studies as there is the assumption of generalised effects which by design excludes a small percentage of the population. Now apply that to a stack of 'well studied' supplements and chances are you'll fall foul of this flaw in at least one of the items. Of course, this risk is exponentially higher for untested supplements. But to say the best you can do is waste your money, dismisses the potential value in self-monitoring and cautious personal exploration (which would be required in either case). The reason these supplements are so popular is because conventional knowledge has failed to catch up with practical needs of modern living.

Can definitely relate to this. I tend to operate more on the macro scale you talk about Adam.
