For a rock song, the rate of chord changes is nothing short of stunning. Even in the apparently simple passages, when the piano melody sort of sounds like a rhythmic lullaby, the richness of variations and embellishments is masterful.

I agree, I love songs that were written on the piano. Guitar songs can be so repetitive and stale compared to songs like these. Thanks for watching.

Could you do Bennie and the Jets from 1980 Central Park or Bennie and the Jets from December 14, 1986?

Well done... I haven't seen anyone try tackling Where To Now Saint Peter, though it isn't exactly one of Elton's more popular songs. Wonder if you might that one a whirl.

Could you do a more recent live performance of this as I note he plays the intro riff differently.

Thank you, your really are amazing!! With your work I’ve been able to play many Elton John songs. Keep going :) Pd: I’d really like a transcription of I Think I’m Gonna Kill Myself or the intro of Sad Songs Live London 1993 ( It’s really cool ) 🙏

I have definitely thought of this one! I particularly liked the performance from the Greek Theatre. I will add it to my list!

Hi Chris! Thanks so much for the hard work you put into these transcriptions, they are great! I was wondering if you would be interested in finishing a transcription I have for a live version "Rotten Peaches"? Most of it is done, but some choruses lack a little finesse. If it sounds interesting, could you give me a way to contact you and send you the transcription, so you can take a look?
@chrisbarkerpiano3 жыл бұрын
Hi Ken, I am so sorry I seemed to have overlooked this comment. I absolutely can do that although I'm not sure about doing a partial transcription. Honestly my transcriptions are pretty expensive compared to what you get on other sites. If you are looking for something that is going to translate into sheet music mine are not the best for that. If you want to be able to hear the piano alone that I have recorded into a MIDI format and also have a video just like you see on my channel here then I can definitely do that. If you want to have me give you a quote email the link to chrisbarkersmusic@gmail.com Thanks!

Hi Angelo, you are more than welcome to download the midi file which you can print music from. The issue with these files is that they are not recorded to a grid which means it isn't arranged for sheet music. I hope it can at least help you somewhat, thanks for the question.

This is so interesting, but at rocket speed! How do I slow this down?
@chrisbarkerpiano Жыл бұрын
Thanks for the question! So I am only familiar with apple product but on the phone and laptop/desktop computers there is an option to slow down or speed up the video. If you are familiar with MIDI files it of course is the best way to rehearse, that does take some knowledge of the format however.
