Extrem interessant.
@linguleum2 ай бұрын
Hi! ^^

I tried to pronounce most phonemes until the point i almost tgre up, i think was something like [ʛ̥ˁ].
@LeReubzRicАй бұрын
Wouldnt it be just qˁ
@PoopickАй бұрын
@@LeReubzRic not really. To pronounce the sound [qˁ] you need to use the air from your lungs, but the [ʛ̥ˁ] sound is actually pronounced by using air outside the lungs. You see, implosives are articulated while tightening the glotis, so the air that flows away from your mouth is outside the lungs, since the glotis prevents from the air to escape the lungs. Meanwhile, there is vacum going on between the glotis and the uvula, and by releasing the front stopping (in the uvula, while the back one is still the glotis), air is sucked into your mouth from the outside, and the sound is made! I hope it helps, please ask anything that was too much gibberish because i got pretty techincal here.
@LeReubzRicАй бұрын
@@Poopick oh I didn't see that's the implosive OK but would that not be ʠˁ? (With the implosive mark)

I have to think a hyper intelligent species would have figured out the concept of "pronouns" or some equivallent. There is a LOT of unnecessary repetition in this language. Also, wouldn't some form of featural writing system, or something similar, be more useful for the transmission of thought than _quadrillions_ of individual symbols? It also makes far more sense with how the language is constructed, with the discrete stems and transfix pieces. Especially for a species that both _talks_ and _writes_ with the same mouth? Why, if they constructed it right, they could basically grab a rock with their mouth-parts, drool some acid into it, then just... say a word. This language is fascinating, but that writing system is the most absolutely cursed idea, ever. It simply cannot work, nor could it ever evolve naturalistically, and even a moderately intelligent creature would end up using either a different system, or a cut down version where only some thousands of unique symbols would ever be used. Think: Japanese. They still use unique symbols for tens of thousands of very common or culturally relevant ideas, but for any loan-words or some newer concepts, they end up using a syllabary in which you only need to know 46 characters to be able to pronounce the word.
@linguleum7 ай бұрын
Well, the goal was to make the language as cursed as possible, so that was intentional. Naturalisticality was more my own private challenge. While I created it, I thought, the number of different characters would be a bit over the top, but since the cursedness is the main criterion, I decided not to water it down.
