Welcome to the Linguleum!
How could a case system look like which not only includes almost every case to be found in natural languages but also makes prepositions superfluous?

What you're doing here reminds me of Basque's "compound cases", but I don't remember if you mentioned that in the video or not. And if I'm not mistaken, I think the locative cases in Tsez are built up in a similar manner. I have an idea similar to this that I want to implement into a conlang, but nowhere near as big in scope. It concerns the evolution of the allative and ablative cases in a language by simply adding the regular dative and genitive endings respectively to the locative case.

Thank you for referring me to Basque and Tsez! Especially the latter one is very similar to the system I came up with. In Turkish, the ablative case suffix {-DEn} looks like a locative suffix {-DE} followed by a reduced genitive ({-(y)En}). I have to look into whether this is coincidence or actually etymologically the case. This would be similar to your idea. (:

That's really cool! I'm also working on a conlang that replaces conjunctions and subjunctions with cases, but it's a bit more traditional, having specific cases instead of combining layers. Your solution is a lot more elegant, but also, at least in my opinion, more complicated. My cases are: Conzessive (in spite of) Causative (because of) Motivative (to make something happen) Benefactive (for the benefit of) Consecutive (resulting in) Conditative (when, if) Adversative (as opposed to, different from) Substitutive (instead of) I've got more of them, but they serve more traditional functions, I also haven't really decided on all of them. Keep up the work, you won a subscriber! Edit: formatting

Thank you so much! (: I’m intrigued by your case system. How exactly do the motivative and the conditative case work? For the others, you gave a preposition as a translation, but I’m wondering how you apply ”to make something happen” and “when, if” to a noun. Would it be something like the following? Motivative: “I studied hard for my graduation.” (“graduation” being in the motivative because it’s what I’m trying to make happen by studying) Conditative: “If I graduate, I will have better chances in life.” (“if I graduate” being the roughy translated conditative of “graduation”; perhaps more literally “in case of graduation”) Did I interpret your cases right or do they work differently? (:

@@linguleum Yeah, you got it right, the clunky explanation is to some extend due to me not really finding the right words in English. My German document reads "damit, zwecks, für" regarding the motivative, for the purpose of (opposed to the consecutive, which merely states a result). Concerning the conditative, it would only occure on it's own, without being the part of a clause, when the condition or prerequisite of something can be made clear with one word, like in your example, where in English or German one would usually use a dependent clause with subject and a verb. The when/if distinction is taken by context or phrasing, but I haven't really worked on any temporal stuff yet, so I don't now exactly how you would phrase "When I graduate, I'll invite my friends for dinner"

woww, and i thought my 3-d morphological system of creating spatial and temporal postpositions was good.. this is wayy more elegant

@@linguleumbasically, in my language Vilvë dzaaë, i mark pronouns and nouns for cases, but I also have a systematic morphemic inventory for describing orientation, contact (distance), and motion (basically LOC/ALL/ABL/PRL), separate spatially and temporally, as well as morphemes for set operations and relations (i.e. NOT, XOR, IN,

@@minamozna Interesting! Do you mean “orientation” as in which way something is facing? Or what I call location in my video?
