[NORMA] I dont know why I'm frightened I know my way around here The cardboard trees, the painted seas, the sound here Yes, a world to rediscover But I'm not in any hurry And I need a moment The whispered conversations In overcrowded hallways The atmosphere as thrilling here as always Feel the early morning madness Feel the magic in the making Why, everything's as if we never said goodbye I've spent so many mornings Just trying to resist you I'm trembling now, you can't know how I've missed you Missed the fairy tale adventures In this ever-spinning playground We were young together I'm coming out of makeup The lights already burning Not long until the cameras will start turning And the early morning madness And the magic in the making Yes, everything's as if we never said goodbye I don't want to be alone That's all in the past This world's waited long enough I've come home at last And this time will be bigger And brighter than we knew it So watch me fly, we all know I can do it Could I stop my hand from shaking? Has there ever been a moment with so much to live for? The whispered conversations In overcrowded hallways So much to say, not just today, but always We'll have early morning madness We'll have magic in the making Yes, everything's as if we never said goodbye Yes, everything's as if we never said goodbye We taught the world new ways to dream

He didn’t go for the G5-G#5 (the falsetto note) like every other “Jesus” has. Disappointing. And I saw him live with Carl Anderson.

First of all, I'm a big fan of Sebastian. My problem with his performance is this is an opera rock and there's a vocal score you must comply with. One thing is adding your style and something different is changing the melody and the phrasing. 😢😢

I have listened to this song a million times and I’ll never get over how it’s like an entire autobiography and history of the mid 20th century boiled down to five minutes. It is so dense and allusive that you could spend hours picking it apart to understand every cultural touchstone.

Changing the line to “1800 people laughed their asses off” is a good fix. The original line was kind of ambiguous. Didn’t really land.

Frank Wildhorn is not only an amazing composer, but a stellar accompanist! Also helps that a gorgeous woman who happened to be your wife, is standing in front of you singing the beautiful piece you wrote!

1:25 I alwasy love how the trombone doubles the vocals line instead of playing a different one like in A New Argentina. It somehow adds to the power of the singing and creates a sorta echoing mania

I like both Lea Salonga and Frances Ruffelle! They each bring a unique take on Éponine’s character. Frances emphasizes Éponine’s loneliness and vulnerability in her hopeless love for Marius, while Lea highlights her street-smart toughness and self-sacrificing desperation. Yes I read the book. Eponine’s character is ambiguous, mixture of strength, hard headed brat, vulnerable and tragic. 😢❤

Sebastian Bach has a great voice for the type of music Skid Row did. But his problem with this one is that it’s impossible to get a sense of Jesus behind his singing. Sounds more like too devilish and only flames, instead of desperation and honest despair intertwined with calmness and dignity of the spirit. My thumbs up for the Skid Row tunes, but not for this one.

This, to me, is the definitive version of this song. Natasha Richardson shows a mixture of emotions - defiance, rage and, finally, loss - while singing about the joys of hedonism. When my wife and I saw Richardson, I couldn’t take my eyes off her eyes. They betrayed the fear Sally Bowles was trying to conceal. What a performance!
