What kind of ink do you use for the colors. I’m in love with the process. My mulberry hanji is white. I would like to color the white Thank you so much for demonstrating this beautiful work.

Hello, I am wondering whether there is any other type of glue that we can substitute this for. I have looked around online and cannot find the cellulose powder. Is there any other glue that we can use?

Cool. They could be used as texture plates on a gel plate.

Fabulous! Inclusion papets are so expensive. I've made grass and leaf papers this way. I also make seed papers with Nori paste (no polymer ( i cut them into hearts and enclose in a card, with instructions to "plant me!"

I live in Korea, home of Hanji. Hubby and I took a trip this past week to Jeonju, about 2 hours from our home. There is a traditional village there and we found a Hanji factory. It was fascinating. They had a store with every color of Hanji you can imagine. We were told they supply most of the retail outlets in Korea and export. I refrained myself and only bought 13 pieces, but I’ll go back. Now to try my hand at joomchi!! Had never heard of it until I watched your video so thanks.

I appreciate the way you showed us the process from beginning to end - preparing paint, range of mark making tools and the results of trial and error exploration which is the most important aspect of this endeavour. Your approach is encouraging and inspiring. Thank you.

I love the yellow-green light that was at the bottom right while you were working. it reminded me of a kind of northern lights. When you framed it and it came to the top left, it wasn't so ‘catching’ for me anymore
@LouiseJannettaАй бұрын
Many thanks for watching the process. I just put a mount round it to show how they are transformed when presented and may well frame it as you suggest. many thanks X
@KatzenlaufwunderАй бұрын
@@LouiseJannetta please don't get me wrong, that wasn't a criticism, but an interesting observation that the same part of the picture, the yellow-green area, seemed so much stronger to me, bottom right, than top left. a sensory perception that can produce different effects. Perhaps this also explains why a picture viewed from different angles can have completely different effects. Fascinating!
@LouiseJannettaАй бұрын
Hello again Kat. It is so easy to get these little messages confused. I knew that you didn't mean anything by your comment. I love people’s feedback. I will certainly be more aware of your observation when the piece is framed and your comment will help to inform my decision X I must admit that as an arrtist there is so much one should be doinging all the time, painting is the easy bit that presentation is something that I am not so hot at. Its the making that I really enjoy XXXX
@KatzenlaufwunderАй бұрын
beautiful, I like this very much. Yeasterday I have started to make my own paper, but I use selfcooked glue of Cornstarch and Water. seem to work really good, as I see on pieces who already dried.Another projekt: I mixed recycled paper and my home-made glue and applied it as a perforated structure on foil. This is of course much thicker than the napkin technique and I'm afraid it will be very hard. Would t make sense to mix in some oil to soften the structures,?
@LouiseJannettaАй бұрын
Hi. Seems you are creating your own process - perfect. Use and get to know what you have at hand x. Your recycled paper, glue, and foil sound very interesting. It is difficult for me to make a judgement about adding oil as it will depend on how you intend to use your creation. Sound good fun xxx enjoy x

Sorry, I seemed to lose this comment, so am.late in a reply. The paper is Mulberry paper that has been Joomchied. See the video .- How to Felt Mulberry Paper.
