I gained 60lbs during my pregnancy and can’t seem to lose any of it. I’ve been at the same weigh since my delivery (5mnths). Even after a healthy diet and exercise. Any tips?

Your blood makes your food. THEN BABY EATS WHAT YOU EAT. Their systems are not able to handle all adult foods. What we eat goes to baby. Spicy food or dairy products or processed foods will cause avid reflux, hours of crying and missery.

Omg girl, your speaking my language. Finally, someone talking about it! The anxiety induced insomnia is for real in my postpartum journey. This has given me relief. Im in general and very healthy person. I was feeling desparate about not getting any sleep and it was a self-fulfilling prophecy. Just knowing a bit more about whats happening and that things will eventually balance out

Thank you for sharing this. So helpful. I'm 3 months postpartum and having sleep issues due to anxiety. Definitely hard to deal with as I consider myself a very active and healthy person. Nothing can truly prepare you for motherhood, but these things, if in place will definitely help l. Also reminding yourself it's all going to pass very quickly in the grand scheme of things. We are warriors, and we have been able to raise and feed our babies in times of famine, war, etc. We can do this!

Congratulations! My best advice would be to Plan for postpartum. How you are going to regulate your nervous system so it feels calm and safe, how you are going to support yourself nutritionally. Adding in extra supplements that support the hormonal change (I have an online postpartum class that shows you exactly how to do this!) Ask for help before you have the bubbas. I’m so excited for you, You’ve got this Mama. Feel free to email me if you need ❤️ Michala

If the baby needs to be fed every three hours, how can sleep be prioritized? At most, my wife can get a max of 2.5 to 3 hours at a time. We're working on the ide strategy if she can get 3 x 2.5 hours sleep per 24 hour period, then she's doing well.
@themamaway
@themamaway Жыл бұрын
That's great that you've got a plan in place (and you're supporting her). I have a 6 week old at the moment too so I understand it can feel hard to prioritise sleep. What I find works best is going to bed as early as possible. Resting during the day whenever possible (even if she can't sleep - resting is the next best thing). As baby get's older and feeds stretch out, your wife will be able to hopefully get some 4-5 hour blocks of sleep which help with feeling more refreshed.
@haymanhughes1121

@themamaway thanks! Another question: I've heard that as the baby grows and can eat more in one feed and then sleep longer, it becomes better to feed regularly during the day and then try to get longer sleeps at night. My question is, how do the breasts cope with going 4-5 hours without giving a feed when they're used to giving a feed every 2-3 three hours?

I'm struggling with acne and weight gain but I'm 21 months postpartum. I'm still breastfeeding, so I'm guessing it's due to low estrogen? how can I raise my estrogen (and maybe progesterone too) without affecting prolactin? my cortisol and nutrients levels are great, so I don't know what to do 😩

Breastfeeding does seem to affect hormones and weight differently for everyone. How often are you still feeding throughout the day /night? There are other hormones at play including thyroid which can commonly affect Mums a year or 2 after pregnancy and contribute to weight gain. Do you feel good besides the weight and skin issues? - Michala

I'm sorry you're going through that - I know it's really hard. I only recommend trialling elimination of the most common culprits so you don't restrict your nutrition (lots of recipes on my website) and if still no improvement looking into other avenues and seeking help from a lactation consultant, Chiro or osteo.I have another video (Part 1) on what I recommend to eat while breastfeeding you might find helpful. Hope things improve for you soon x Michala

I have 5 children. I eliminated to varying extents with my first 4. I never saw a significant difference. This time, with baby number 5, I just eat food because I get super hungry and life is already hard juggling life let alone worrying about what to eat. I personally think colic and tummy issues for babies have more to do with them having an under developed stomach. Their stomach isnt really sealed until they are 6 months old, anyway.
