What size prop on the Decathlon? I have same plane with same DLE 20cc and my prop is probably way to big.

You, my friend, are an asshole! I would keep my mouth shut, until and unless, I had flown one of these particular aircraft! These are a handful on landing!

I had a chance to fly in one to work on the compass system in flite. But it was 12 hr flite because we were on alert and I was just getting off of my shift and didn't want to fly a 12 hr flite. Stupid me. I have regret it ever since. I let one of the other guy fly on it instead. stupid me. Da.

I wonder how many guys remember the very first bombing run on Vietnam in 1965. I was standing on top of the e and e building watching the B52s take off. I was an Auto pilot technician at the time. They took of in formation of 3s. That way if one bomber got shot up and lost their compass system, one of the other bombers that had a good compass could lead the other 2 back to base. On that bombing run, the lead bomber executed a right turn. all 3 bombers would all turn right together. But, one of the following bombers made a left turn and the 2 flew into each other. we lost 20 men that day and 2 B52s because one of the piolets didn't know his right from his left. If you remember this. leave a reply.

I was born at Castle AFB in 1957 right about when they got the first ones .. Home of the B-52 baby !.

That thing is going to need a longer runway! Aside from the tail section hitting on landing, not bad for a maiden flight. Looks fantastic in the air. It absolutely needed those flaps too! Well thought out construction.

Good job, I do think that is a remarkable aircraft. I have always wanted to build a B-52, I was around them for a few years with 92 Bomb wing. Wish I could have flown one instead of just plowing snow so they could take off and land, but we all had jobs to do. Thanks for building this nice bird and hope you get many flights out of it.

I spent many years Flying on these ( B-52's) and several years on B-36's as a tail gunner. They remover the tail turrets in 1992. By then they, were not necessary. I would love to build one of these, but age says otherwise!

Don't dive on the approach. You pick up too much speed and float. The nose should be slightly high at the proper approach speed. It WILL descend because of the higher drag. This is an all too common mistake. Get the right attitude, hold it and control the descent with thrust. Awesome model.

Love the ripples in the B52 body. Unintentionally realistic? When on the ground, the skin of a buff looked like cellulite along the body as the aircraft was built to stretch in flight about 9 feet.

most times I land my P51 with no more than half flaps..or no flaps in a head wind..this p40 floats..it will land great with no flaps, or you will need to keep a little throttle with flaps and fly it to the ground, and keep the flare as long as possible..makes for greaser landings everytime

if any body has about £40,000 to spare on a model plane and another £20.000 an hour just to fly that model then good luck the he takes it to a model club on a windy day and crashes it OOOCCHHH

I've always had a soft spot for the Hurricane. Though the Spitfire was prettier and a better aircraft, the Hurricane made up 60% of British fighter cover in the Battle of Britain. That thick wing made it a stable gun platform and in model sizes it makes for a wide speed envelope.

the blue angels and the thunderbirds are not that kind of plane (sry not exactly sure what plane that is) but the thunderbirds are f-16s and the blue angels r f/a18s
@Mr.XJ.967 жыл бұрын
Yes now they are F-16s and F-18s.....But they used the 104s in the mid 50s to early 60s? the thunderbirds and blue angels have been around since late 40s early 50s. They have used several types since, A-4 skyhawk, F-4 Phantom.....ect. Google the Histroy of Both, im not sure 100 percent myself but know theyve been around for over 60 years and they kick ass.

I've got the same plane and same engine. I was about to run the engine in but didn't realise until I had 5 other club members who very kindly tried to help me get the engine running that I have a damaged piston ring. Can't wait to get mine airborne this year hopefully, seeing this video makes me more excited.
