Gents, that is a great representative model of the real bird. The ducted fans used do a great job of sounding jet-like, and much cheaper! During 1969 and 1970 i had the honor and pleasure of maintaining # 601, 600, 589, 067 and several others. The D-.models were real workhorses. Saw two of them go down, unfortunately with loss of lives. Ohh memories!

That thing is going to need a longer runway! Aside from the tail section hitting on landing, not bad for a maiden flight. Looks fantastic in the air. It absolutely needed those flaps too! Well thought out construction.

Love the ripples in the B52 body. Unintentionally realistic? When on the ground, the skin of a buff looked like cellulite along the body as the aircraft was built to stretch in flight about 9 feet.

Good job, I do think that is a remarkable aircraft. I have always wanted to build a B-52, I was around them for a few years with 92 Bomb wing. Wish I could have flown one instead of just plowing snow so they could take off and land, but we all had jobs to do. Thanks for building this nice bird and hope you get many flights out of it.

I spent many years Flying on these ( B-52's) and several years on B-36's as a tail gunner. They remover the tail turrets in 1992. By then they, were not necessary. I would love to build one of these, but age says otherwise!

Great video, the people who are saying its a bad model are obviously the makers of the turbine b52 on another video who should be ashamed of themselves for being so childish. Just because this b52 uses electric motors doesn't make it a bad model, it sounds just like a jet to me when it flies. Electric brushless motors are the future of this hobby, gas turbines and nitro engines are inefficient, dangerous and expensive, not to mention polluting the air we breath.

I wonder how many guys remember the very first bombing run on Vietnam in 1965. I was standing on top of the e and e building watching the B52s take off. I was an Auto pilot technician at the time. They took of in formation of 3s. That way if one bomber got shot up and lost their compass system, one of the other bombers that had a good compass could lead the other 2 back to base. On that bombing run, the lead bomber executed a right turn. all 3 bombers would all turn right together. But, one of the following bombers made a left turn and the 2 flew into each other. we lost 20 men that day and 2 B52s because one of the piolets didn't know his right from his left. If you remember this. leave a reply.

Generally planes and helicopters aren't that expensive. There are even planes that are actually built for so called "combat flying", which basically involves trying to make other people crash by ramming them. Those planes generally cost about $10 and a tiny bit of decent tape ;)
